"<p>Group  is easy to work with. No money up front which is very unusual in the construction trades. Difficult roofs to deal with tear off more involved than anticipated and that boosted price which still made it below other bids proffered. Crews worked hard when on site.</p> <p>Have hired them to do another job which is to put Hardie board on all exterior non stucco surfaces of 2 units. So far so good and this project is ongoing and more than half finished.</p> <p>Company is easy to deal with. They go through the proper permitting procedures and also brought the manufacturer rep in to certify roofs for warranty.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"<p>D&D Aluminum is a great company. Carey Tarplay came to our  home to give an estimate. He suggested we visit his showroom, which we did. We were able to see all of the options to choose from, styles, colors, etc.  We wanted to replace our old sliding glass doors with French doors and Carey explained everything that needed to be done and helped us choose the proper layout for the side glass and French doors.  My husband and I had checked out a couple of competitors showrooms and I had fallen in love with a front door at one of them. "After seeing their product at the Minneapolis Home & Garden show we were convinced that this was the right product for our porch improvement work. The guys from EZ-Screen brought samples to our home to help us select frame color and installation method. They took careful measurements of all of the window and door openings and put our order in motion. A few weeks later our windows and door were delivered. <br /> <br /> We did this work at the same time we had some exterior siding work done by another contractor. We arranged to have that contractor do the actual installation of the EZ-Screen product. The rep from EZ-Screen came out to our site when the installation started to ensure that our contractor understood how to properly install the windows and door. Everything went smoothly and contractor commented on how easy the windows went in. <br /> <br /> After three full seasons of use we still enjoy the product and we're pleased that we chose this as part of our porch renovation. "It went extremely well. The team that came out to build the canopies were extremely diligent and worked very hard to give that professional accuracy and feeling of complete integration to the house. The guys were clearly proud of the products and worked diligently to customize them. "2020 has passed and we couldn't be happier with our completed first floor project, thanks to Jim Rutherford Construction. Jim was willing to tackle what other local well known contractors were either unwilling to consider or bid so high as to be unaffordable. Our project proved to be a technical challenge from the onset, raise the ground floor by almost a foot of concrete, completely rebuild the first floor by installing 3 impact French doors, 3 impact doors and 4 impact windows, cut off support an internal staircase including modifying framing around a dumbwaiter, reframe and replace every exterior wall from 4' down. Plus an added surprise rebuilding and repairing 45' of a heavily spalled concrete tie-beam in less than a week. We're still amazed at how quickly and confidently Jim set about taking on the project, he seemed to have it figured out before we even committed to getting started. He knew just right carpenters and subs to assign the work to. Once they began, they never stopped till the project was completed. Workmanship was outstanding, inspections were a breeze. I commend Jim and his crew for the quality of work and attention to detail, no shortcuts taken, stainless hardware/fasteners throughout and only pressure treated lumber. Add them all up and we have a completely new remodeled permitted downstairs ready to withstand the elements. It is without hesitation we'd recommend Jim Rutherford Construction for any project or home construction. Professional, polite and a pleasure to do business with."

"The thing that struck me as most impressive about this contractor was his responsivness to my calls for help with my roof leak. While the 3-4 other subs I called put me in a queue for responding on their schedule, Mr Vanderheyden, the owner himself, came to my house and called on numerous occassions to insure that my roof got repaired quickly in spite of his very busy list of jobs following the 14" of rain we got from hurricane Juaquin, this season. The work was done on time, at budget and in a way that insured that I would not have any future problems. The focus on customer needs that this contractor demonstrates is rare, in my experience, and I was very impressed and would use him again as my first choice for any construction or repair needs that I might have.
