"Eve is an artist! I extend the highest of recommendations for this company. Everything, I mean EVERYTHING, was done so professionally. The quote was very reasonable and his work greatly exceeded my expectations. He reinstalled our appliances and installed a new sink and faucet for us. Everything was done on time and cleaned up impeccably. All countertops and backsplashes were created for me on site. My new kitchen is beautiful. The workmanship is stunning. I am extremely pleased. Please do not use anyone else for your laminate custom creation/installation. I recommend the bull nose edge; Eve makes them by hand and my countertops look like granite tops with rounded edges."

"We had a few odd jobs around our new home and decided to hire a handyman. Best Austin, as do other companies, ask for a prioritized list, as they can't guarantee how long any specific task will take. This is fair- we provided a list of 4 items- 2 of which HAD to be completed, and 2 of which would be nice to have but weren't urgent. We agreed to a four hour block of time for $389- understanding we could go over/would have to pay an additional $X hour if he was mid-task.
Handyman arrived on time and got to work on our #1 item- installing a motor for a garage door whose stall had just been used by the previous owner for storage. We had purchased the unit from SEARS and had it- and a ladder- ready for him. I didn't stick around for the actual installation, but it took a total of 5 hours. We were disappointed it took so long - but we had been fairly warned before hand and understood our agreement so we sucked it up. We weren't willing to keep paying so we sent him home- the garage door motor worked so we were generally happy.
A few weeks later, our caretaker (we were out of town) had some trouble with the door and got on a ladder to investigate. He discovered the chain had been improperly installed, and in multiple places only one bolt had been used when there was room and holes for 4. The chain was rubbing in such a way it would have soon caused permanent damage. Moreover, in several places the washers were not tightened on the bolts- there were several CMs between the washer and the hole, so things were really loose. It appears that without our caretakers intervention, we would likely be looking at a busted motor within just a few more weeks, one that could have potentially fallen on my car, doing additional damage.
Long story short- this company was easy to schedule, nice enough, and seems fairly priced. But for the quality of service we received, I would have been better off attempting the work myself - at least then I wouldn't be out $444 for a lousy result.
For what it's worth, I did just pass along my experience to the provider, and they were sympathetic.

"Tim arrived early with all of the materials needed. He took the counters of the bases. he took the tops outside to take off the old laminate. with the old laminate removed he began cutting the new stuff. very methodical. He cuts all the pieces so the grain ran in the same direction. When he was done all the edges fit perfectly together. I think he does it outside to keep the dust from his machine out. when he left you couldn't tell there was construction going on in my house. (the last guys left dust, nails and sawdust everywhere.) He's very neat and tidy and showed respect for my house"

"My wife and I very very impressed with Jonathan's product knowledge, suggestions, and professionalism throughout the sales process. The shutters were installed today by Christian. This young man impressed with a neat/clean appearance on arrival, he quickly cased out the scope of work to be accomplished - and went to work. He worked efficiently, was tidy, and knew his trade. Completed the installations ~3 hours. Both Jonathan and Christian are a credit to Delightful Decors - thank you gentlemen for a very pleasant experience. You have my recommendation "anytime"."

"When I requested a quote on Angie's list, I had a response from Jesse in 20 minutes (on a SUNDAY). Once I scheduled the work, Manny and Christian showed up on time and walked me through the process. They resurfaced my tub from dull beige to sparkling white, cleaned up and were gone within 4 hours. They were efficient, nice and respectful. We were so impressed with the service, we have scheduled A Star to paint our kitchen and bath cabinets and install our kitchen backsplash later this month."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Leander, TX

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
