"Person arrived very much later than expected and I didn't feel respected by him. Was told the weather needed to be warmer for the repair to be done. Understandable as it was extremely cold. Also said I needed a cover on the bricks at the top of the chimney walls. However I don't know that I will have them come do the work as I didn't get a very good "feeling" about the person giving the estimate. Also, $500. seemed a bit steep. I haven't had the work done yet, so am still debating whether to have this company do the actual work."

"Wonderful! Due to scheduling Justin wouldn't be able to send out a tech for a couple of weeks so he thought he could troubleshoot my problem over the phone. Two phone calls lasting about 20 minutes total and he was able to figure out it was a bad switch. I was able to do the necessary repair myself. Can't say enough about a person willing to do this pro bono vs setting up a service call. I offered to pay him for his time but he refused. Wow. I guess this was his Christmas present to me. They will be the first business I call if I have any additional problems with my fireplace."

"We experienced everything from original person who was to do our job walking off the job, to elimination of 50% of work we wanted done.  The person who signed us up for the work, which is the same person who was to do the work, promised us via contract that the company could do all the work and there would be a work crew available in the following week.  The original person that eventually walked off the job, would tell us he was going to be here at a certain time, then he did not show up until hours later.   After that, we had a difficult time even getting someone to show up to do the work.  When someone (two guys) did arrive, they were evidently pulled off other jobs, to finish our projects.  One of the guys was overheard to say, that he had to correct C's mistake (meaning the one window), that had siding damage, from removing the old window, and was the workman that had abandoned our project.  Anyway, the two windows have been a nightmare, as it was suggested by the contractor that a 3 inch trim board be placed around the two windows being replaced, to compensate for the siding damage that occurred next to the one window.  We agreed, as it seemed to be okay at the time.  One of the windows had a large 1" hole that went from the inside of house to the outside, and a large 1" hole in the siiding at the top of this same window.  The homeowner (myself) had to quickly put some in the hole that went all the way through, as ants were coming in, and used excess foam, even though interior foam only to fill in the hole on the outside above this window.  Since then, we have noticed a leak very near where one of the holes was patched.  Several times it was mentioned to the contractor about these holes, but nothing was ever done to permanently patch these holes.  Upon closer inspection of the windows, it was observed that the J channel, instead of sitting right next to the windows, was placed around the trim, which now surrounds the windows.  It was also observed that a screw sits in the J channel on one side, and because the windows, along with the J Channel extend out further than they should, we presume, so the window meets the surrounding trim.  Anyway, according to window install instructions, there isn't any circumstance where the J Channel is now sitting right next to the window.  We asked that we get a 2d opinion about this window install, before we made our final payment, just to be assured that everything was done okay.  This contractor rebelled and demanded immediate payment, even though 30 days had not passed.  We were even accused of being responsible for the added trim, since we agreed to it, and any associated problems associated with it.  We paid, but with a bitter taste in our mouth.

"They had a $199 special running for two services, we picked the chimney cleaning and dryer vent cleaning. They protected the living room well before doing the sweep, and used a vacuum to make sure soot didn't get everywhere. Its difficult for me to tell how well they cleaned the chimney. The dryer vent I could see all the lint they were blowing out.
One quibble we had was the lead technician recommended we remove the outside dryer vent cage because it could lead to lint building up. He said there is already a flapper there to prevent anything from getting in, so we did remove the vent.  In two days, a couple of grackles tried to set up shop in our dryer vent duct.  We watched them that morning use their beaks to open the flapper and climb in.  So I turned on the dryer to run them out and put the cage back on.

"My house needed an emergency repair to a couple of windows due to wood rot that was exposed by the storm. I called multiple companies and received return calls back from half of them. The others could not fit us in but Bill was able to come out and assess the damage. He was very thorough in his assessment and provided us a detailed explanation on what needed to be done to properly fix the problem. He also provided us an option that would provide a temporary fix that will give us time to arrange the finances needed. Even though he was booked two weeks out, Bill recognized the repairs needed to be done right away to prevent further damage and he graciously squeezed us into his schedule the next day. "Jim and his team came out to take care of a growing crack and small footing/structural issue on our entryway. Though it was generally tough to get anyone to show up, they came out, bid and began work within 2 weeks of first contact which was appreciated. While working on our house they also completed some extra repairs on a cracked archway for our front door, more repointing on the face of the house and the chimney and I hired them to help put on our chimney caps - a project I had been told a half dozen times "couldn't be done" because of the style of our flue or contractors would disappear on me. They spent the time to do their best to match the mortar color to our historic home's mortar color. No mix is going to be a 100% match because of various factors (including age), but of the two times we've had masons out to do repairs their initial mortar mixing was pretty spot on in color and texture. Our most problematic area ended up cracking slightly again after repairs, but Jim had one of his guys back out to repoint the area again. This time with a slightly different color, but without extra charge. Overall Jim's team did an excellent job, addressed any concerns I had and made sure the job was done properly to preserve the historic nature of our home as best as possible."
