"One of three quotes we got on our home for a big project involving cracked beams/joists and piers. Suresafe gave us a quick inspection followed by a quote- with the wrong math. When emailed questions pertaining to the 15k+ project few were answered- and when I called their tone was that I clearly didn't know much about foundation repair. I value when someone takes time to share expertise in their area of work so I am comfortable paying that amount of money- I did not feel that in this interaction. Opted to not use their services."

"Mr. Pogue gave me tremendous peace of mind - he assured me that my house was in good condition, and the small signs of potential foundation problems were normal for a home as old as mine (built in 1979). He explained everything in a way I could understand. Very personable also. Most importantly, he was not trying to sell me something that I didn't need."

"His work is SUPERB THE FIRST TIME. If he is busy then we wait; we trust his commitment and judgment entirely. Jorge has also done significant projects (i.e. entire dirt to sky remodels) for at least seven houses in our neighborhood (historical homes) and everyone agrees that he is the best of the best. He and his team are very pleasant to work with and we HIGHLY recommend him. We are pleased to provide any additional referral information a potential client of Jorge would like."

"Keith and his workers began right away to prepare the house to be raised in order to replace the foundation. This work is very challenging (and nerve wracking for the homeowners), but Keith, in his very calming and easy-going demeanor, always kept us abreast of all the work involved (and kept us informed of all the inspections) and answered all of our questions. A month or so after that work was completed and the house was lowered, work began on restoring our old wooden windows, replacing the roof, building new eaves, insulating, replacing the shingles and siding, re-plumbing, rewiring, and then finally restoring our old hardwood floors, dry walling, repainting and remodeling the kitchen and bathroom. This was a massive undertaking, but one that Keith and his crew handled very professionally, and more importantly, with love, as if it was their own home. Steve Lewis, Keith's foreman, at one point said, "We are giving the old lady a facelift!"

The work began in January 2011 and was completed by August 2011 (a couple weeks after a bank imposed construction deadline). Needless to say, my wife and I are ecstatic with the results! We love our new house, and love even more that we found a company that we could trust, especially since the work at hand was challenging and arduous. Working with Keith and his crew is a very bonding experience, simply because they will love your house as much as you do.

Currently, Keith and his crew are doing all the hardscaping, drainage, irrigation, concrete and fence work on our property, and again, we are happy with the service we are accustomed to. We knew when it was time to begin the work outside that we would hire no other company than Berkley Construction.

For peace of mind and satisfaction, we highly recommend Berkley Construction for all your remodel/restoration/hardscaping needs."

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Lemon Grove, CA

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
