"I had previously contracted with one of the big box companies to replace a hot water heater that had quit working in one of our rentals.  They failed to show up.  I canceled that contract and called Landon.  Because the person living in the apartment had no hot water, Landon said he  would make time to complete the job that day as he considered the situation an emergency.  We were very grateful for his caring nature.  Landon brought the new hot water heater and he and a helper installed the until that afternoon.  The space for removing the old unit was very tight.  The trim and dry wall had to be torn down in another apartment during a previous install.  We told Landon we understood that they would probably need to do the tear down and then repair the damage in this one as well.  Landon and his helper worked and struggled until they got the unit out with no damage.  There was hot water flowing when the tenant returned that evening.  That is about as good as it gets!"

"We purchased hardwood flooring from a local discounter. The sales associate highly recommended Mr. Keeton so we called and set an installation appointment. Mr. Keeton's picked up our flooring directly from the seller (which was nice that we didn't have to haul it). He did not schedule an appointment to look at the room we were flooring, he just took our word on the square footage and quoted us a price. The morning of our appointment, his crew did not show up at the scheduled time. Apparently he double booked for the day and told us they would come in the afternoon and squeeze us in. We protested that perhaps we should schedule for another day but he insisted "no, no, they can come today". They showed up around 4 pm and worked through about 9:30 pm. They told us we had incorrectly measured our floors and we were in need of some transition pieces for the doorway.( a mistake that could have been addressed in a walk through and not 5pm the day of installation) We did in fact need the transition strips, however we did not need the extra box of flooring that they said we did and it is now sitting in our basement. The crew worked at a breakneck pace. They stopped only once or twice for cigarette breaks (they smoked away from the house and picked up their butts). The positives were: They worked hard, they were polite and respectful, and they thought enough ahead to lay the less attractive flooring pieces in places that would be covered by the fridge or stove. The cons: They were tired when they showed up and so they rushed through and made sloppy mistakes. (At the end they whizzed through the cuts on the quarter round, didnt fill the nail holes with putty etc) There were gaps in the hardwood in places so we had to ask Mr. Keeton to come the next day with wax filler and fill them in. They also (in order to save time) Didn't cut the boards flush with our exterior door frame because they figured we'd cover it with a strip "of something" and also left us to fill in the gap between our kitchen and livingroom where the new transition strip sits higher now that the new wood floors are in "with colored caulk or something" So The sloppy rushed work, by a tired crew, their lateness (arriving 7 1/2 hours later than scheduled and then making us feel that we were "lucky" to be "squeezed in" ) and the overall feeling that our job was wedged into an overbooked schedule (no walk through to confirm we had what we needed ) would make me unlikely to recommend this company to others. I'd much prefer to either pay a little more or wait a little longer to have a job done right."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lewisport, KY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
