He was very thorough about understanding EXACTLY what we wanted installed, how we wanted it to look, how we wanted it wired, etc. If he ran into a situation he wasn't 100% positive what we wanted he would stop and ask then explain what that would look like. After he completed the requested job at a very fair price we asked him if we could pay him to replace 2 light fixtures in 2 bedrooms with ceiling fans we provided and he didn't bat an eye and said yes of course.
