"<p>I bought a new house and wanted the carpets cleaned prior to moving my goods to it from out of state. I had several high traffic stains, plant stains from over watering, and previous animal stains (which I was unaware of until the guys told me based on the material that was being removed from the carpet). </p> <p>I contacted Thompson on a Monday and they arrived on Wednesday. They were about 15 minutes late but they had gotten lost finding the location but since they were coming from a different city so it was not a big deal. They guys introduced themselves and reviewed the area that needed to be cleaned and seem confident that they could get good results. They estimated that they needed an hour to complete. I was able to go back to work and leave the guys to there work. I received a call from them about 45 minutes later indicating they were complete with the job. I came back to the house and the guys had already packed and cleaned up waiting me. I reviewed the work and they had done a great job. the high traffic areas were completely removed and the plant stains were 90% removed and looked so much better. The previous animal stains I was told about, I had not indication they were remaining as the rooms smelled great and looked better.</p> <p>I was very happy with the results that Thompson carpet Cleaning was able to provide to me with their services. I would not hesitate at all to bring these guys back to do additional work when needed. I highly recommend.</p>"

"From beginning to end the experience was positive.  Rick was helpful in helping us find exactly what we needed within our budget.  He did not try to oversell us on things we didn't want or need.  His suggestions were always helpful.  He was professional and friendly through the entire job.  The crew were fantastic as well!  Rick was there the first day to show them exactly what was wanted and they did a great job.  They were quick, professional, competent and clean!  Rick followed up within days of completing the job to make sure we were happy.  The entire process was pleasant and stress free!"

"PRICE above is estimate!!  I remember for the work they did, the price was great (including the vinyl) but my husband took care of the bill and he doesn't remember exactly what it was. We only paid about $200 for the vinyl remnant 10x12 which was a great savings!  <br /> We were called ahead of time as a reminder. The lady in the store was very nice and easy to work with figuring out our install time and dates over the phone. The removal of old carpet and installation of new vinyl seemed to go very smoothly. The guys were efficient and worked well. I can't think of their names now, two younger guys.  They didn't damage the thin baseboards at all either in removing or reinstalling. They cleaned up their mess and did a very nice job! <br />"

"I hired this company to remodel my kitchen after taking several estimates. They finished on time before the holidays as promised. They were very professional and the quality of work is amazing. They clean up the job site after every day and I was throughly impressed. I would definitely recommend this company to all my friends."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lima, OH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
