"He called to let me know his approx. arrival time within the time window we had agreed on, arrived promptly, had all the tools he needed for the multitude of "little" tasks and was cheerful without being annoying.  He suggested the light in the closet (which was something I had originally wanted but forgot to put on my list) and I went to the store and bought the light (meantime he was installing the outet) and wired and attached the light.  The IKEA chair repair was an "added thought" while he was here.  He had a part to secure the leg and it is now as sturdy as the other four chairs.  The umbrella was taken down and gone practically before I knew it.
While he wasn't speedy, there was not sense that he was slow-careful and thoughtful are the best adjectives.  The drawer that wouldn't stay pushed in is an example of what I mean by thoughtful: he looked at it and didn't see right away how to fix it.  After working on the medicine cabinet door (which also took him some thought because of the type of hinge-they needed both "pitch" and "yaw" correction - I don't know how else to describe it) he went back to the drawer and fixed it.
Everything was done in a manner that was professional and my new list of "handyman" fixits will be waiting for him once enough things need to be done.
