"Vortex Filtration Inc is a excellent company with vast experience & knowledge in conditioning potable well water. I recommend Vortex Filtration Inc to design build and install their patented Vortex water system to solved all well water conditioning issues. My client had a problem for over tens years prior to the installation of the Vortex system. Once installed, the well water in the holding tank was crystal clear. Thanks Vortex!"

"We stopped by the showroom and looked at the finished displays.  We then set up a Saturday appointment with Aaron to review the must have's (hallway bath tub replacement) and the nice to have's (master bath shower replacement and replacement vanity in hallway bath).  We took avantage of the quantity of scale and parlayed two rooms of work.

Installation was a month out (due to customer sizing and order of the material).  Crew showed up and knocked out both bathrooms in two days.  They were fast, considerate, good communicators, and on-time.

However, the sliding glass doors for the master bath shower were 30" instead of 24" each.  Thus, the installers hung them for the time being and had to back-order the correct glass doors.  This made getting in and out of the shower difficult for about a week.  The longer doors meant that a different door towel bar was required.  The correct doors came in a week later; however, the replacement towel bar was too long.  A week later, I was informed that the correct towel bar was in.  It was STILL too long.  At this point, I had to go to the main showroom to explain the situation to ensure the correct towel bar.

Aside from those hiccups, we are pleased with the quality, fit, and finish of the final product.  It is spendy, but built to last compared to the off-the-shelf tub and shower we had previously."

"Rather than fix the issue the first 2 calls, more refrigerant was pumped into the system. This cost me $75 for each call plus the cost of the refrigerant. The 3rd time, they fixed a valve and refilled the refrigerant and I am monitoring to see if this really fixed the problem. So I am out $225 for service calls fro the same problem and the cost of the refrigerant. I think they take this approach intentionally."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Linwood, NE

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
