They quoted $8,000 for one handyman (changing several door handles and door hinges, installing a ceiling light and switch, shaving the top of a door, partial grouting of two showers, relocating a small kitchen wall cabinet to a different wall, minor painting, sealing an outdoor light, etc.) using mostly my materials (hinges, switches, light, door handles). Only after work started was I informed that they scheduled 4 days at my home ($2,000 per day). They deemed it unnecessary to whare this info in advance because they are task-based, even though they somehow estimated it would take 4 full days. Also, of the 4 scheduled days, 2 reschedules occurred due to their personnel issues. On the last day, I intended to go through the checklist of work, discuss possible future work, and to ask for assistance in properly measuring 2 doors for replacement. However, the handyman arrived late, and noted that he was in a rush to depart for a medical appointment."
