"The owner(John) communicated well, contacted the Building Inspector for us, helped us fill out Permits. His crew were tops at what they did-courteous, neat and clean, became our second family. John and crew manager explained clearly every step of the process and why and how they would be carried out. No shortcuts taken. Excellent products used. Wonderful customer care qualities...each laborer and staff involved. Itâ s been 2 weeks + since the work was completed; weâ ve had downpours and not a drop in the basements. Andrea + Earnest Palmer"

"Customer Service was good. However pump was installed in a different spot then was discussed with out proper consultation. Despite prior assurances, the basement was not closed off during jack hammering, thus creating a thick layer of dust over the entire basement."

"This is by far the best contractor/company that I've worked with! The workers are responsible and highly professional! The work that has been done in my house is of a very high standard and great value. When I was doing a basement remodeling, they helped me to discover the termite damage and treat those damage for me immediately to prevent further damage. Additionally, they are good with renovation and investment. After renovations, I was able to improve the value of my house by about $20k and sold it for a good price. I am very thankful to have them because they guided me along to maximize the value of my house with a little spending. I will definitely recommend Advanced Seamless Gutters Inc to you all, not only because of the quality work they produced but their honesty and loyalty."

"Honestly, we cannot say enough good things about Drainage Pros. They are professional, competitively priced, trustworthy, and - most importantly - excellent at what they do. <br /> We moved into a 1920s home with major drainage problems. Four of the six original underground drains that collected water from the downspouts were nonfunctional. Our home also sat low on the property, and when it rained water flowed across our driveway, over the patio, and into our basement by seeping over the foundation. It looked like a small river coming toward our home and disappearing underneath. <br /> AJ responded quickly to our initial inquiry and met with us on site to discuss the project. He listened carefully to our observations while assessing the driveway, patio, and grounds before sending us a detailed proposal the next day. The proposal listed several different stages and options, which we continued to discuss with him at every step of the project. AJ was always very  knowledgeable, communicative, and professional, responding to our many questions and concerns thoroughly and patiently (even when we asked the same question multiple times). Ultimately, Drainage Pros stood by their original proposal, working within budget, and they even guaranteed their work (although we don?t expect we?ll be needing the guarantee). <br /> They tore out and had the old driveway re-graded and repaved, installed a channel drain behind part of the home, and laid pvc pipe along the entire perimeter to collect water from all six downspouts. They ran the pipe under two bluestone patios and walkways, all of which they reset carefully. They connected the pipe to our main sewer line, which required six foot plus excavations. Lastly, they reseeded the lawn (which returned nicely), and basically restored the grounds to their original condition. The paving company they coordinated with was also excellent, and they worked hard at communicating with each other to ensure that the project was completed to our satisfaction. <br /> Personally, what I most appreciated about working with Drainage Pros is that AJ did not trouble us with all of the things that could possibly go wrong while performing such a major job like excavating and tapping into the main sewer line. He simply assured us calmly and professionally that he and his team could do the job, and they did. Perfectly. <br /> We had previously discussed the job with a completely different (and also highly rated) contractor who appeared flustered by our drainage issues and, after charging us >$1,000 for an assessment and cleaning, was unable to offer us a written proposal or estimate without further ?diagnostics?. Do not waste your time and money, like we did. Just hire Drainage Pros, and they will get the job done. <br /> We now have absolutely NO DRAINAGE ISSUES and strangely even look forward to when it rains so we can see how beautifully the water flows down the driveway, into the drains, and away from the house. If you are on this site searching for a drainage specialist, perhaps you can appreciate this. <br /> <br />"

"They were a little slow responding to my initial contact, but once the estimator came to price out the job things went smoothly. He was courteous and professional (as were the actual installers) and made me feel that I had a pro on the job. I was told I was the first appointment for the day of the installation, but without telling me, they scheduled another job first meaning my job started four hours later than anticipated. But, again, once this communication snafu was out of the way, the workmen did a good job. The gutters look great and I have no complaints. So I guess an A- or B+."

"We hired Wes at S&W Tile to install a heated porcelain tile floor in our new 4-season sunroom, and the experience was one of the best we've had with any contractors that have done work on our house. Wes was incredibly responsive, helpful, and thorough at explaining options and answering all our questions from when we first talked to him through the end of the job. He's very hardworking, detail-oriented, and did high quality work on our new tile floor. We appreciated how he was willing to have several detailed conversations over time as we figured out what we wanted to do for the floor, and we're glad that we ended up adding a Schluter DITRA-HEAT system under the tile as well which works great so far. I'd highly recommend Wes for any tile jobs in the future."

"<p>Without exaggeration if Steve and his crew could not fix my problem I was ready to sell the brand new house I had just bought.  My house and property sit on a very high water table and besides having the foundation leak every time there was a heavy rain, the sump pump cycled every three or four minutes, was very loud and the backflow was loud enough to keep me from sleeping as the sump system  is nearly directly under my bed.</p> <p>I emailed Real Dry Waterproofing using their web site's form.  I described a desperate situation and Steve Wall called the next afternoon which was a Sunday.  I once again described my situation and Steve said he would be here the next day.  I must say I was a bit emotional when describing my situation to Steve.  As a recent widow having purchased a brand new house and receiving very little cooperation from the builder, I felt angry and taken advantage of.  My builder said all building codes had been met but that was little comfort when both my basement and property flooded during heavy rains and I couldn't sleep in my bedroom.</p> <p>Steve listened patiently and made suggestions.  When I starting having these problems, I did a lot of online research and had talked to a local site developer and from what I had learned Steve's suggestions were thorough and the price he quoted was fair.</p> <p>The next day Steve, John and Brian arrived on time and Steve had giving my situation further thought and came up with an alternative that saved me $700.00.  Steve and his crew did the work quickly with very little disruption and were super careful of my two cats. </p> <p>At the end of the day, the new floor drain was installed to prevent the water coming in the bulkhead stairs, the new perimeter drainage system installed to keep water from pooling against the foundation and the new sump setup was quiet.  However I have very good hearing and to reduce the last little bit of noise  I suggested that insulating between the joists and added ceiling board would reduce the noise to nothing.  I asked if Steve knew of anyone who could do that kind of work immediately.  He said that he, John and Brian could do it if I would understand that that is not their business.  I didn't care what it looked like as long as the last of the noise was eliminated.</p> <p>The next day Steve and his crew showed up and began the insulating and installing the ceiling board.  They needed a few more hours the next day to finish.  Both the price he charged me and the work itself was wonderful.  The ceiling looked fine and it was a blessing to be able to go to bed and sleep without tossing and turning because of the sump system noise.  </p> <p>I am very impressed with Steve's knowledge, skill and compassion.  He and his crew respected my house, my cats and me!  I consider what he charged more than fair, in fact a bargain indeed.  I would certainly use Steve's company again but I know that it will be many, many years before I need to.  I will recommend Real Dry Waterproofing to any and all I come across who need these services. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <br />"

"These guys are the greatest! They saved us a lot of money! We had a dumpster before the bullbag and for 3 tons of material and a week rental of the dumpster it cost us $486! We own the bullbag now, had a full bag - 3.5 tons - picked up and it was only $229! We didn't have any rental charges, excess weight fees, or anything! These guys did everything they said they would! OMG! Everyone should use these guys!!!!! Also, I got the bullbag back! I never have to buy another one and its ready to use whenever I feel like doing a clean out or renovation."

FAQs for basement drainage channels installation projects in Longmeadow, MA

Expect a well-built French drain to last 30 to 40 years. By channeling both surface- and ground-water away from your foundation, the system relieves hydrostatic pressure and helps prevent costly structural damage. Choose a pipe with a quality cloth filter to keep sediment out and extend the drain’s life. A quick annual inspection and routine cleanouts will keep water flowing freely, ensuring the system continues to protect your home for years to come.

Most French drains sit two feet below grade, but depth ultimately depends on the problem you’re solving. For puddling rainwater or snowmelt, a shallow curtain drain at lawn level often does the trick. To handle rising groundwater, pros dig deeper, down to the footing, and run the pipe beneath the basement slab. A drainage contractor will determine the optimal depth for your specific soil conditions and water issues.

A properly installed interior French drain captures water at the slab, channels it to a sump pit, and directs it safely outside, preventing basement floods before they occur. Because the pipe sits just under the floor edge, a plumber can reach it easily for cleaning or repairs. Pairing the drain with a reliable sump pump gives you the best long-term protection.

Hire a contractor who installs drainage systems every day—typically a foundation specialist, drainage contractor, experienced landscaper, or plumber with waterproofing experience. These pros understand slope, soil, and local codes, and they have the equipment to trench safely around utilities. Ask for references and photos of recent jobs to be sure they can design a system that keeps water off your foundation for decades.

Once the drain is in, patch the yard by reseeding bare spots or replacing plants the crew removed. Inside, look for ways to add value—finishing the basement or upgrading interior waterproofing while the space is open often costs less now than later. Schedule a quick annual checkup to flush sediment and confirm the pipe and sump pump are clear. Consistent maintenance ensures the drain functions properly and protects your investment.

Most policies don’t cover the cost of repairing a French drain itself, but they may provide coverage for water damage if the system fails. Coverage varies by insurer, so be sure to read the fine print or contact your agent before any issues arise. If you live in a high-risk flood zone, consider a separate flood policy to close the gap. Knowing your coverage in advance helps you budget for repairs and avoid unexpected costs.
