"Top Notch Quality Craftsmanship at a Great Price! With our 100-year old house, no projects are ever straightforward and our gutter project was no exception—but Gutters Etcetera made it a great experience and we have beautiful gutters! Gutters Etcetera started it all off on the best note possible... a quick and easy estimate process all done over the phone. What’s even better... they provide ACCURATE and TRANSPARENT pricing info on their website—a clear point of difference vs. every other gutter company we came across. Furthermore, they don’t try to make you sit through a presentation on their over-engineered and over-priced gutters like most of their competitors. A huge plus in my book! Their professional crew came out and with very high attention to detail replaced our gutters with new seamless ones and leaf guards, while also replacing any rotted wood soffit/fascia. They went above and beyond on all fronts, something that wasn’t exactly easy given the challenges of our house (old, steep grade, extreme pitch of our roof). Dane, our project manager, also managed all of the variables, helping coordinate the color match and all materials that were needed for the project. Highly recommend this crew and company if you’re looking for a professional team and great-looking gutters!!"

"Justin's team did excellent work on a complete remodel of a bathroom, gutting it to the studs and turning it into something beautiful. They pay close attention to details, communicate along every step of the process and have a good sense of humor. I highly recommend their work."

FAQs for steel beams (structural) service projects in Louisville, KY

A steel beam weighs six to 12 pounds per linear foot, depending on its size and shape. That means a 10-foot beam rated at 10 pounds per foot tips the scales at 100 pounds. Commercial projects often use much larger members—some top 50 pounds per foot—so crews may need lifts or cranes to maneuver them safely into place.

On a new build, crews can slide a beam into an open frame in just a few hours. Replacing a beam inside a finished home takes longer—plan on two to three days—to shore up the structure, remove finishes, and work around plumbing or wiring. Your structural engineer will outline the steps, and you may want to stay elsewhere while the temporary supports are in place.

Yes—as long as a structural engineer signs off, swapping a load-bearing wall for a beam is a safe upgrade. A steel I-beam offers the best strength-to-size ratio and meets local codes with room to spare. Your engineer will calculate the load, specify the beam, and verify that the surrounding framing can handle the new setup.

Watch for rot, rust, cracks, or sagging—all red flags that a support beam needs attention. Water stains, uneven floors, or doors that stick can also point to trouble. If you notice any of these issues, call a structural engineer right away. Catching the problem early protects your home and can keep the repair bill from ballooning.
