Small jobs welcome

Hi there! I have about 9 years of experience with home remodeling, house flips, and currently I am focused more on carpentry (custom closets, interior/exterior trim, etc.) and flooring. I am still open to most home repair needs. I am new to Angi, but feel free to check out some photos of my work in the project photos. I am also willing to share more photos. Feel free to email me at JMDhomeservices1@gmail.com or call/text at 3179032308. Thanks!

"He made an appointment for Friday and I brought the bike to his shop.  After an hour of disassembly and investigation, he sent me off to complete the rest of my day.  A couple hours later, he called staing the repair was complete.  I came back by and the bike was fixed and the repair area repainted.  I did not even know it had been broken and mistakened the repair area when inspecting the bike.
He's an honorable, upstanding, Christ-centered small business owner who does great work.  I would recommend him without hesitation."

"I was very satisfied with their work. They were very cooperative. They did things that many people wouldn't do like hauling away stuff, moved the furniture outside, covered it up good, and came back in put back in. They were very professional. They were honest in what they did. They would tell me what they could and couldn't do. I was most satisfied with their work. They were dependable and worked real good."

"Wilfredo and his team actually did two projects for me. They removed and installed a tub. The team was very professional and skilled. The tub turned out beautiful. Secondly, they removed and installed basement windows. The windows are beautiful. The team was very professional, respectful, and skilled. I would highly recommend Wilfredo and his crew."

"We are on a service agreement with them. We are not the original owners of our home. We purchased the home in October of 2013. In March of that year, the previous owner installed an entirely new HVAC system, about $20,000 worth. There are 2 heat pumps and 2 furnaces. It's a hybrid system, so it will either run on electric or gas, depending on exterior temperatures. RT Moore was the installer. While we were not required to go with them on servicing, they are familiar with the system. They are the installers and it's a Carrier brand. So we are inclined to go forward with them and we are on a service agreement. We've had them since we moved here almost 3 years to the day.

Our agreement is they do a twice a year inspection and cleaning and everything. In the fall it focuses on the heating. Then we'll have them in May. I haven't scheduled the service yet but usually within a week or so of the call, they'll be here. That one will focus on the cooling.

We've been very pleased with their punctuality, professionalism and the quality of the work."

FAQs for steel beams (structural) service projects in Indianapolis, IN

A steel beam weighs six to 12 pounds per linear foot, depending on its size and shape. That means a 10-foot beam rated at 10 pounds per foot tips the scales at 100 pounds. Commercial projects often use much larger members—some top 50 pounds per foot—so crews may need lifts or cranes to maneuver them safely into place.

On a new build, crews can slide a beam into an open frame in just a few hours. Replacing a beam inside a finished home takes longer—plan on two to three days—to shore up the structure, remove finishes, and work around plumbing or wiring. Your structural engineer will outline the steps, and you may want to stay elsewhere while the temporary supports are in place.

Yes—as long as a structural engineer signs off, swapping a load-bearing wall for a beam is a safe upgrade. A steel I-beam offers the best strength-to-size ratio and meets local codes with room to spare. Your engineer will calculate the load, specify the beam, and verify that the surrounding framing can handle the new setup.

Watch for rot, rust, cracks, or sagging—all red flags that a support beam needs attention. Water stains, uneven floors, or doors that stick can also point to trouble. If you notice any of these issues, call a structural engineer right away. Catching the problem early protects your home and can keep the repair bill from ballooning.
