"I have been in the carpet industry since the early 1970's and have been employed as everything from a carpet installers apprentice to a carpet store manager. Consequently I have been in and around a myriad of different carpet businesses encompassing all aspects of the industry. I have been using Vogel's exclusively for all of my carpet purchases for nearly 10 years and have never had a problem with their services. I have found Vogel's to be of the highest integrity, well organized, communicative and a pleasure to deal with."

"I contacted Raul for a small job needing the carpet on the landing of our staircase replaced.  I had saved the carpet remnants from the original installation so we only needed a 4' x 4' section installed.  We were afraid the job was so small that it would be hard to find someone to take the job.  I contacted Raul and he was very accommodating and was able to find time between jobs to come by and install the carpet - and on the same day!!!  Raul was extremely responsive and professional in completing the work and I would highly recommend using this business for any of your carpet needs. <br />"

"It was easy to make appointment They came on time A pleasant gentleman. Quiet and quick work The carpet was hardly wet when he finished (does that mean a good job?) There were no huge stains to work on. The stairway was left with dark edges. I called the company to come back and they cleaned the stairs again. These dark edges are typical for older carpets and can't be removed"

"When I called, John's schedule was pretty full but he was able to squeeze in my little job.  John was on time and efficient. The carpet looks great.  He even suggested that I could vacuum if I wanted before he moved the bed back.  I vacuumed while he was doing something else saving time and money. He was pleasant and willing to answer my questions about carpet in general. <br />"

"Dennis White, aka My Flooring Guy, may be new to Angie, but he’s been in the floor business for a long time- and is a real pro. I needed carpet installed in just one room- a job that might have been too small for most. But My Flooring Guy did the work quickly, cleanly and at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend him."

"These guys were amazing! Our sythetic fiber carpet was badly stained just from high traffic walking on it with bare feet over and over. I honestly did not think that they would be able to get the stains out of this very light colored carpet but they did. Apparently the company is owned by two best friends, so it is kind of family owned. Anyway they basically did the impossible, and made the carpet look like new again. Thank you Smith Bros!"

"Mike Stinson was very professional and friendly. He went above and beyond to get the entire house carpet looking like new. Chose the platinum package since it offered a few extra options we desired. It also came with a guarantee for a free cleaning within 6 months if any stain could not come up with the free stain remover they provided."

"I ordered the carpet on Tuesday and they installed it on the Friday of the same week and they also made an area rug which I picked up the next day all done for free. FAQs for carpet installation projects in Lowell, WA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
