"this is an L-shaped living/dining room carpet.  the young men did a great job.  very neat and fast; it took less than an hour.  we moved all the furniture except for the sofa, which they moved.  the man who called to discuss my job was very thorough and clear, and we were happy with the cost as well as the quality of work. <br />"

"We compared materials and prices from several local big box and flooring stores as well as on line. Airbase Carpet Mart had the best selection, good quality and good price. The sales rep who helped us was informative and helpful.  We had them measure, which was a free service, and ordered flooring based on their measurements.  We had our own contractor do the installation.  The only slightly negative is that there was 1 1/2 cases of flloring left over, which was not returnable because it was custom ordered. <br />"

"I have been a Customer of Barton Carpets before. I first had carpet put in my home. Jerry showed up at my home first thing in the morning and had the job completed before lunch. Carpet is still in great shape and I was so pleased with this company from my past experience so I decided to go back to Barton's for some hardwood for my living room and vinyl for my kitchen. The salesperson, Joe, was absolutely great. He helped me decide from so many choices. They came out to my house to measure and advised what would work well with all my animals and foot traffic. I shopped around and was happy to find out they were the best price for the goods I picked out. Didn't hurt they have been the most friendly to me neither. Everything was scheduled and I was told they would be there in the morning the day of the install. The guys showed up early and completed the hardwood and vinyl within two days. The installers were gentlemen and the job turned out great!! I recommend them because they completed a great job and they understood what I wanted from the beginning. I am also a realist, I understand that every company may have an issue every now and then but they have handled everything with nothing but professionalism. Thanks everyone for another job well done. See you next year when I start my makeover of the basement. <br />"

"Aaron is a true professional with dedication to his craft. He is also an excellent consultant on options that will hold up over time. Once the project starts, your interests are represented well as he make choices that lead to an excellent finished product. His prep work in particular and surface preparation was impressive. I have no doubt these will be long lasting floors and if I need repairs or other support later he will be there to provide insight and options. <br /> <br />"

"I requested an estimate through the website and received a prompt reply.  I later spoke with Bill Ferguson, a representative of the company.  He was very helpful and clear about the estimated deliver of the tile.  Since it was a specialty item, and was being ordered from Italy, the delivery date was somewhat uncertain.  However Bill explained very clearly what factors would influence the delivery date, and assured me that I would be notified  when it arrived in the U.S. so that delivery date could be arranged.  I felt that he was very forthright about the fact that the order, being a special one for an overseas item, was final and could not be cancelled once I told them to go ahead with the order.  I appreciated his advice on inspecting the order when it was delivered. The tile arrived around the time that Bill had estimated, and the delivery company worked with me to arrange the time so I could be home to receive it. All in all I was very happy with my experience with Fast Floors and would be happy to use them again."

"Instillation was fine, but our sales representative did not have to contract information emailed to us as promised and he scheduled an install date that was not verified with he installation dept. . When I called him after I found out they were not coming to install, he said he couldn't help me with that he didn't know how he could help with the problem. ."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Magnolia, DE

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
