"I originally phoned Eric, 4.5 years ago, during the build out of our veterinary clinic. I needed a matte finish, non-slip, easy clean, no grout and super durable (20 + years) floor. Eric came to my location, the same day, to explain the process and show me samples. Eric also directed me to another vet clinic, where I could see the very same floor I wanted. I was able to see for myself how the floor was holding up and talk to the people who used it everyday and were responsible for cleaning it. Eric was attentive to our timeline. His staff was courteous and professional. It’s no small task coordinating the timing of grinding and prepping the concrete, laying down the layers of concrete coating and getting the walls painted without trashing the paint or the floor. Eric made it happen, when it needed to happen. Recently, we had a small area in the floor, where the concrete itself bubbled and broke apart, which damaged the coating surface. Eric came and explained what happened. He fixed the floor in one, hassle free visit and it was covered by the warranty. We couldn’t be happier with First Class Coatings and our floor. "Everything looks good.  The crew came on the date we established, they were quick, professional, and skilled.  It took 2 days as quoted, and the demo materials (trash, concrete etc...) were picked up on the third day.  Mike the owner was easy to reach whenever we called with questions.
Tip:  Book early because the company is very busy and you'll need at least 2-3 weeks lead time to schedule your date.  It's worth the wait, my backyard is beautiful and I have no complaints.

"The steel mailboxes in our community are cemented into roadside masonry pillars. Some unknown miscreant apparently ran into my mailbox (but not the post), damaging the mailbox so extensively that I had to replace it.

I purchased a larger mailbox, and contacted Sergio Verdugo to install it. I did not seek competitive bids, but just asked him to do the job.

Because the new mailbox was larger than the old one, he and his assistant George had to chisel, saw, and jackhammer the concrete pillar to enlarge the hole to house the mailbox. The concrete was hard, about 20 years old, and Sergio complained that it was the hardest concrete he had ever had to deal with.

Hours later the job was done and the mailbox was cemented into place. Unfortunately, Sergio did not check in with me to consult about placement of the new mailbox, so it ended up being inserted into the post farther than I would have liked, was slightly cockeyed, and the clean-up was not ideal (some stucco remained on the mailbox)--hence the lower score for "quality."

The cost was more than I expected it to be, but most likely that is because of the extra time and labor involved in enlarged the cavity. But I'm a newcomer to the area, and have no feeling for what things should cost.

Although I indicated I would use Sergio Verdugo's services again in the future, I will seek competitive bids next time.

"Victor was upfront about the timeline to complete the project. The project was done in stages as planned. The first crew came to jackhammer the old surface and tile and from the start I had immense confidence in them. They worked as a unified team, very organized and thorough. My project was difficult because there is no backyard access and all materiel had to come through the front door and house. The crews were very careful and diligent in protecting my house and floor as well as cleaning up the work area after each part of the project. Different crews were sent out to address the different parts of the project and each did an outstanding job. It seemed as if each crew member had worked together for a while as their approach to the job was focused and unified. They worked quickly and efficiently but were not rushed nor sloppy. Everyone left the job site neat and tidy especially after the demolition of the old pool surface ( jack hammering concrete and plaster creates lots of dust) and during the resurfacing. The crew cleaned up the whole patio including the chaise lounges and removed all the ambient concrete and plaster dust. The deck resurfacers gently tied back plants in the borders around the pool and taped off areas so as not to get paint anywhere but the deck. There was no fuss nor muss.
