"Just wanted to let you know that we are so happy with the deck. Everyone at Fence & Deck Connection was so easy to work with. This was the easiest home improvement/repair we've ever gone through. We really want to thank everyone. From our initial meeting with Tracy to the pre and post installation meetings with AJ things could not have gone better. Everyone we dealt with just via email was also extremely responsive. It actually surprised me how quickly our emails were replied to. And the crew were also great."

"Freedom Fence & Deck did a fantastic job replacing our 35-year-old wood fence with a beautiful white vinyl fence. Jim (the salesman) was very easy to work with and accommodated all of our design choices. We found particular latches and handles that we wanted to use, and they agreed to install them for us. The contract process was quick and straightforward. After about six weeks, they were ready to install the fence. They sent out two crews at the same time, plus the owner Steve, who worked alongside them. With seven people working, they managed to finish the entire job in just one day! Our old wood fence was completely removed in about 15 minutes, and then they meticulously installed the new fence, setting all the posts into wet concrete and making sure all the sections were straight. At the end of the long day, when one of the locking gate latches wasn’t working right, Steve patiently worked on it until eventually we realized the part was defective, so he replaced it with a working one. A certain kind of handle had to be ordered, and as soon as it came in, he came back to install it. The fence materials are extremely high quality—the vinyl feels very thick and sturdy, unlike the kind sold at the home improvement stores. And the new fence has completely transformed the look of our property—we’ve already had several compliments from neighbors. The whole process couldn’t have gone better, and I’m happy to recommend Freedom Fence & Deck for all your fencing needs!"

"So we were having our brick stairs redone out front of the house and we wanted to find someone to replace the two broken railings. Because only the top-cap of each railing was broken, our contractor for the brick work suggested that a repair could be performed. One fellow quoted $1000.00 per rail. He wanted to leave most of the railing in place, welding in a new section of iron on the top of each rail. Once our our neighbor called someone else who quoted $400.00 per rail for the same repair, the other guy said he could match that price. So imagine my surprise when R D Neale from Baltimore Wrought Fence and Rail said that he could use the existing materials and do the repair for 85 bucks a rail and make them look as good as new! Sure enough, he came out right away, fixed up the rails, and even repainted them. The rails look great and I couldn't be happier. I'd highly recommend you give Mr. Neale a call for your railing work."

"We are having a fence put up along our property lines and needed several shrubs and small trees cleared out. I called Freestate on Friday, the 25th and was able to set up an estimate for the following Sunday morning. Ben showed up on time, gave an estimate and confirmed they would be able to get me on the schedule for that week.
He promised to follow up with me right away to confirm the details. I received a voicemail later in the day confirming that we were on the schedule for the following day! We had a couple emails back and forth and received extremely fast responses each time.
As promised, the crew came out on Monday and removed everything. They did a great job clearing everything out without leaving any debris. The stumps were also ground out and my lot looks like there were never any shrubs/ trees planted in that location.
We had a great experience from the first phone call through the completion of the job and would recommend them to anyone needing tree work.

"I will be paying for the tarp installation, but ultimately, my Condo Association agreed to provide their repair person, at their cost, when it was proved that it was the fault of the roofers. I was very pleased with the professionalism and prompt response of Kargman. I would certainly use them again and would highly recommend them to my friends."

"Working with Steve Hessler and Rock Creek Decks and Additions was a pleasure. My wife and I contracted with them to install a roof deck on our rowhome in Canton, Baltimore. She and I both work in the design/build industry, so our project was not going to be your run-of-the-mill deck. We knew exactly what we wanted from the start, and we know just enough about construction to be dangerous, and that means we can be a major pain-in-the-butt for any contractor. Steve was super friendly and open to working with our particular and unique design ideas throughout the whole process. He is a genuinely warm individual and his attitude and vast experience in his trade instilled confidence in us from the get-go.
We interviewed and received quotes from 4 or 5 contractors before signing on with Steve and RCDA, and almost all of those other quotes came in significantly higher than Steve?s bid. Not to mention, Steve was able to start and finish our project very quickly - within a few months of our initial quote. He manages different crews on different projects simultaneously so you?re paying for his detail work, oversight and management of the project, but not for his expertise onsite all-day-every-day when the bulk of that time would be unnecessary. Some contractors we spoke to in the past were opposed to the idea of tailoring the design to our wishes. We felt like they wanted to build their deck on our house, not our deck on our house. Steve and RCDA not once balked at the choosy specifics of our material choices, our particular layout and designs, or the custom-built details of our project. He instead was particularly excited to work with us to build a unique end product. Also, at no time did we feel like he was trying to pull a fast one on us, which I understand is a big fear for most homeowners. It was almost a bonus that he and the crew were very courteous and exceptionally clean during the interior work of our house.
Each day they worked we had one foreman and about two laborers at the house. Steve seemed to stop in once every few days or so to address detail issues, to make sure things were going as planned, and to fill the foreman in on the next steps in the project. On occasion, we would come home from work to find that the crew had progressed with construction in a way that was contrary to our original discussions. We would then shoot Steve a text about the issue (in many cases he already knew), and he would be there early the next day to straighten things out. As I stated before, my wife and I had very strong opinions on the project and wanted to see our design carried out to the fullest extent. I imagine we were more involved than the typical homeowner would have been. It was stressful for my wife and I in the few instances when the crew had progressed in error; however, Steve was always a phone call away and would set the matter straight, even if it meant additional material and labor costs on his end.
We have lived with the deck for about a month now and are still happy with the results. We?ve found a few issues and he has come back to take care of them. There are a few details we?ll take care of on our own, since we know he?s gone above and beyond in every other respect. In the end, everything worked out great and we are happy with the overall experience. If you are picky, know that Steve is very available and seems happy to please. He is very responsive via call or text, but occasionally needs reminders of particular details (understandable for someone managing multiple projects). If you?re planning on a standard deck and don?t want to be heavily involved, I believe Steve and RCDA would provide a quality and safe product. If we had to do it again, we would choose Steve Hessler and Rock Creek Decks and Additions.
