"All workers arrived on time and as scheduled to removed existing tub, adjust plumbing for new shower, installed new fullsize shower, and finished by cleaning up bathroom and every area where they worked or tracked in dust (garage and laundry room)."

"B+. It was a quality job, with staff to support him to make everything easy. Punctual. Knowledgeable. Responded timely. It had a pretty big hiccup that makes me question the experience.... I had to have a 2nd guy out due to my system being geothermal. I know nothing about anything HVAC so I didn't know to tell the office my system is geo. I didn't know how it all connected with my furnace. All i knew is had an electric bill and geo system. On my last call with Jennifer when we were talking about the labor cost, she said most people tell us when they have Geo. Which, makes me think it's my fault the wrong guy came out first and not there's for not asking me what system I have. They are the experts, I'm not. Anyways, once the right guy got there the 2nd time he noticed very low refrigerant so we assume a leak. He gave me an idea that the price to fix could be $700, could be $900, depending on if he has to use all the parts or not. When he comes out again for his 2nd appt (3rd overall), his machinery notices no leak after 2.5 hours of checking which is great news; however, i still get charged over $600 even though no fix was needed. He tells me it's a lot of labor which is how i got to talking to the office again. He charged for 4 hours labor, he was only there 2.5. Jennifer said with drive time it was 3.75hrs (still not 4). If you go with these guys, you'll get good work... but you'll pay for their drive time to their next appointment and who knows maybe also drive time from their previous appointment. Point is you're paying for their scheduling. Not just their work."

"First I would like to say that everyone I dealt with at ICSR was great! From Erika who made the appointments to Jeremiah who did the inspection, to Terry and his crew. They were all friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. Jeremiah explained in detail what needed done in my crawlspace. There was a lot of damage due to termites in the past. I knew this was what needed done as I had another Company look at it as well. They backed out because they thought the crawlspace was to narrow to get the work done. I agreed to Jeremiah's plan and about two weeks later Larry and his crew came out to do the work. I will say it again, Larry and his crew were great. They worked so hard and in horrible heat and humidity. They were always friendly and smiled when I saw them. Larry always let me know what they got done that day, and what the plan was for the next. They cleaned up the work area, and took away any and all debris. I have full faith in ICSR and Larry and his crew that the repairs were done right. I am so glad the plan with the other company fell through, as I think I ended up with the best!"

"Mike Craw came with someone he was training.  They arrived on time, took up the toilet, replaced the wax seal, and then raised and leveled the toilet.  Our pipes are old so he explained that eventually the pipes would probably have to be replace because of corrosion but that it could wait.  He then cleaned out the main drain from the toilet which greatly improved the flushing capacity.  I would definitely use Craw Plumbing again."

"Jim Melangton came to provide an estimate on a new AC. He learned about my needs and took the measurements. Unlike other providers, he only gave me 1 AC option. In addition, he was the only provider who didn't bring a face mask, and when I gave him a new one to wear, he joked about it and didn't wear it properly."

".From the first call they made me feel comfortable. The salesman Doug set a date and keep it.  Doug came out looked at my basement, give me two choices told me about each in detailed. Gave me my free estimate and no pressure thanked me for having him in my home and to let him know what I thought.  Four days later another company called the day before our meeting and said he could give me estimate over the phone if I could describle what was happening. His bid was $9000.00 with out seeing the job.  Americrawl bid was $1500 and $1206. I went with the $1500and a appointment was set. In the meantime My husband and I had to take down some removable walls in doing so we found that years ago the system the were going to do was already done to a point. I called Doug and told him that I thought maybe the job won't be as big as first thought. Doug had me send him pictures of the area. Turn out was right , but the appointment was keep and instead of 30' of pipe they only had to do 10'. The three men that came covered the area the floor all the way to door, and cleaned up you would have not known they were even here. I ever had anthing leak again I will call Americrawl. Also my bill will be adjusted do to the difference in pipe. They didn't even say anything about the bill I had to ask. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Manilla, IN

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
