"September 1, 2018 went to lowe's (Ludington location) to look into indoor shutter for 1 window, they recommended grabber shutters they were a better quality brand. Paid $35 dollars for professional installer to come and measure and make any recommendation, the installer came in on September 12, 2018 he was great and gave us an estimate and his card to call him if we have any question. The installer does not work for Lowe's. called September 16, 2018 asked Lowes to call us when they got the information from grabber and any discounts available. It took a month before we received a call back, we let Lowe's know we were coming in to place the order had to wait they were busy with other customers when they got to us 3 different Lowe's employees could not figure out how to place the order for these shutters, one was a manager. We were there for more than an hour and finally ask if they can call us when they were ready to place the order. a month went by and we heard nothing, We called and they were apologetic for no call back they forgot about the order and no one followed up on this order. Lowe's called us back and said that they were ready to have us come in and place the order we let them know that we were coming in when we arrived they took over 30 minutes to find our file and when they got it they did not add any discount that we missed during the 2 months of waiting. The quote had the original price of eleven hundred and it does not include installation fees. at this point we asked for our $35 dollar back for the at home measurements they agreed and we told them that we will never order a custom order project again and we would not recommend them to anybody. They agreed and didn't offer to make it right. I'm not sure why they offer to make Grabber indoor shutter when they don't want to sell them I think over a thousand dollar for 1 window is a lot of money obviously they did not want our money."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Manistee, MI

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
