"Greg did a fantastic job! I had 12 steps, a living room, base board, and a hallway re-carpeted and padded. He also stretched the carpet in a second living room. I called him at 9:30am on a Saturday morning and he came over and gave me an estimate that day. He was kind and answered numerous calls on a weekend with all the questions that I had. He was flexible with installation time as we had to wait for the carpet to come in. I would highly recommend. Thanks Greg."

"Everything from the sales process to the installation was helpful, smooth, and seamless! Ryan, the salesman we worked with, was extremely helpful in finding flooring that suited our needs price-wise as well as practicality-wise. We have 2 small children, a dog, and a cat -- he somehow managed to direct us to flooring that was just perfect for our situation. The price was right in line with the other flooring stores in town. <br /> <br /> We ended up with carpet that doesn't show a SPECK of dirt (and I do have plenty of it!), and laminate hardwood that looks so much like the real thing, that everyone who comes over actually touches it to see if they can tell the difference! 18 months after installation, both still look amazing even after taking a lot of abuse. <br /> <br /> The installation was just as great an experience, I was so impressed with the installation vendors that Carpet World leveraged. The gentleman who did our laminate was a magician, to say the least! Our home had some very challenging woodwork - railings atop a sunken living room (about a 6and quot; drop). He came up with an ingenius solution to place trim along the railing in such a way that the 'seams' didn't show where the laminate meets the carpet. It looks so sharp and has held up really well. He was professional, quick, and cleaned up after himself! <br /> <br /> The carpet installer was really good too. We had a bit of a delay in getting someone scheduled, because we have a cat and several of their installers are severely allergic, so it took a couple weeks longer to get on the list, but nothing to really cause any concern. But once he arrived, he too was quick, efficient, and polite. <br />"

"Kurt was right on time and did a great job cleaning the carpets as requested. He was able to schedule our appointment at the time we requested. While the carpet just had normal daily use dirt, it was cleaned not only to our satisfaction, but also to the satisfaction of the landlord. <br />"

"We went to Fargo Linoleum since they were the local contractors for Costco's flooring service. We dealt with Don throughout our interaction. He was very pleasant and professional throughout our interactions. He was very helpful with everything from heping us choose the correct flooring material to scheduling a date that worked for both of us. They were done with their work faster than quoted, which is always a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend the company. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mapleton, ND

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
