"Amazing ! We were doing some renovating and decided to get rid of our carpet and tile combination and replace it with vinyl plank. We did our research on the vinyl and happened to be passing by Direct Floor in Cape Coral. James welcomed me and spent a good deal of time answering all my questions...many questions to my satisfaction. He was genuinely interested in my project and my budget. I was very impressed with the experience and went home and checked the reviews. I returned with my wife and we brought a few samples home at the insistence of Jeff. It was nice to see the flooring in our home with different lighting conditions. We made our choice and placed the order. I received a call a few days later with the installer who came and measured and promised a date to have the tile removed by the Dustless crew with the install on the day following. The dustless crew arrived on the day promised at the time promised. Craig arrived the next day as promised at the time promised. Two Florida Miracles ! We love the floor, the install was perfect, the pricing was competitive, and there were no surprises. Everything exceeded our expectations by far. Next time we need flooring we would not consider anything besides Direct Flooring with the install by Craig."

"Since we were new to the area and needed new carpet for our living room I searched Angie's List for a provider.  Floor Mart was highly rated, so I called and requested a free estimate. We followed the Saturday morning estimate with a visit to Floor Mart to select new carpet. They had plenty of carpet inventory to choose from and the prices were reasonable. We made our choice, scheduled a date for installation, and paid for the carpet (also received a discount as an Angie's List member). The installer they sent was on time and friendly, and he did a great job. I don't know when our next flooring need will arise, but when it does, Floor Mart will be my first contact. <br />"

"<p>Checked numerous vendors for price and available Karastan selection. They were among 3 that had our choice. They were lowest in price and offered a lifetime warranty on the installation of the carpet. Installation was within 10 days of measure. They moved all furniture, installed carpet, replaced furniture, all within 9 hours. We remain impressed with the job the installation crew did. So far we're good with everything in this transaction.</p> <br />"

"My first room was my large florida room (can't remember how many square feet off hand but it wasn't a small job). They installed the tile when they said they were going to, explained the process, the guys who installed cleaned up after themselves, very professional as well and they finished the job in a timely manner. The finished job was good quality work, which is very important to me. I had them install tile in one of my bedroom's and the same awesome work ethic and good quality workmanship was demonstrated. Thanks guys! <br />"

"Excellent! I couldn't be happier. After the measure by Ed Ehlen, I determined my budget and selected the carpet. Ed was generous with his time to answer any questions I had and even made a follow-up visit once the carpet was selected to verify the yardage for pattern matching. <br /> Once the carpet arrived, an appointment was made for the install. His experienced installers showed up right on schedule ready to work installing the new pad and carpet. Each of the employees had well over 10 years of experience with this same business! <br /> It's the little things that say a lot about a company. When the installers saw the carpet strips were placed too far away from the wall with the original carpet, they didn't hesitate to make the job right. They removed the old ones and put new ones closer to the baseboard before installing the new pad and carpet. <br /> The room looks beautiful! <br />"

"Excellant. Couldn't be happier with product, staff, and installation. This company stands behind their product and installation. Thats why they have been #1 in Charlotte County for 15 years. I recommend them and will be returning to have carpeting installed in the near future. Sandy Stone"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Marco Island, FL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
