"Despite hiring him for several projects, Rodrigo became progressively more unreliable. He never fixed a flaw in a walk they put in (that was poorly done in general) and were completely unpredictable on when and if they showed up for weekly lawn service."

"Bruce came over and began to look at the system. It took a while to figure out how it was put together and there were 3 different control boxes. He was bit taciturn and hard to get information out of at first and I was afraid the visit was going to be a waste of time and part of what I needed was information about the system, however, he did warm up a bit and started to tell me what I needed to know. All in all, he was very knowledgeable about the system and got things working. My only complaints is that that I wish the company would have sent two people. We are on rural property and I feel like the time spent running back and forth to switch the box on or off or advance to stations and then going to see what was happening would have paid for an extra person."

"Nick at Cutting Edge Landscape reviewed my back and side yards and recommended a combination of sprinkler heads for the lawn, drip nozzles for the shrubs/trees and drip hoses for inside the garden beds.  I liked this idea better than another recommendation & quote I had previously rec'd.  They installed a new connector box, pipes and hoses in November 2013 and came back in late May 2014 to program the existing controller which is a complex computerized Rain Bird water-saver brand previously installed for the front yard by another company.  It is not a brand he installs in new systems and he was unfamiliar with it.  I wanted to keep the existing controller as it was only 3-4 years old.  So he located the local Rain Bird company and found that a representative from the Portland office would be in town soon.  He made an appointment and they came out to re-program the controller.  I appreciate this extra effort to get the job done right. <br />"

"I couldn't be happier with this company!  We moved into a home on a one acre plot that had been allowed to overgrow for some time. You could see that it was once meticulously landscaped, but the weeds and blackberries had taken over and nothing had been pruned in ages.  It is nothing short of miraculous how much they were able to accomplish in four days!  <br /> The owner, George, was very friendly and professional. I thought his fees were very reasonable for the amount of work that was done, and he was great about advising us on best methods and timing for various projects. <br /> We still have many things to tackle on this property, but when we need help we will definitely be calling this company in the future. <br />"

"gary or his regular crew are very dependable and come each week and keep my yard clean, healthy and manicured. I don't have a lot of grass but enough to require weekly upkeep and my knees are bad so I hired Gary about 15 years ago. Gary is a long time local person who is the epitome of a hard working, independent blue collar business guy. He is also a very committed family man. He hires people who he trains and insures are reliable. Two of my neighbors have hired Gary over the past years. I don't write many reviews like this...it's my only one actually, because Gary is worthy of it. If you need a yard person/company, I recommend Four Seasons Yard - a 15 year satisfied customer. <br />"

FAQs for lawn and garden sprinkler system installation projects in Marcola, OR

While drip irrigation systems have higher upfront costs, they can save you money in the long run. By delivering water directly into the soil with minimal evaporation and runoff, drip irrigation systems conserve water and improve efficiency. This means better performance and results for your landscaping, and cost savings over the system's lifespan.

Yes, irrigation systems can add value to your home, especially when installed with high-quality materials and a solid design. A well-irrigated landscape enhances curb appeal and can attract potential buyers. However, poor design or installation may reduce performance and even decrease your property's value. Hiring an expert for installation and performing regular maintenance is key to securing the long-term benefits.

A local irrigation professional can help you check your drip irrigation system to make sure it's in good shape. You'll want to make sure the water pressure is in a good range, repair any leaks as soon as possible, and cover the cost to winterize your sprinkler system as recommended by your irrigation contractor.

A drip irrigation system lasts between 10 and 15 years. This lifespan is determined by the quality of materials, the precision of installation, and regular professional maintenance. Unlike traditional sprinkler systems that can last up to 50 years, the thinner piping used in drip systems is more sensitive to UV exposure and environmental wear. Proper upkeep and timely repairs enhance durability and ensure consistent irrigation performance.

Drip irrigation is best suited for plant beds, containers, greenhouses, and row crops. It supplies water directly to individual plants, ensuring precise moisture control where it is needed most. For areas with simple layouts, above-ground systems work efficiently, while subsurface installations may be cost-prohibitive in spaces with extensive tree roots or irregular terrain. Proper planning maximizes the benefits of drip irrigation across a variety of applications.
