However, the final bill was much higher than the estimate with absolutely no explanation given. Really too bad because I really like the guy who owns the place. They had tremendous experience in installing the flooring correctly and in a quality manner. They took great consideration in asking any questions of me, so I knew ahead of time of any potential problems we might encounter (i.e. previous installation leftovers), helped me move furniture that they didn't have to, and they didn't forget ANYTHING. I didn't have to run around and remind them of this or that to be done. I could leave the house and know I could trust them. They were respectful of my property, my time (very prompt), and my cats :-). <br /> I had solicited estimates from a third-party installer from a 'big box' store, who never called me back. I am so glad he didn't, because I turned to Schumacher's and it was the best thing I've done in a long time. "When first contacted for a bid on the work, Done Done Services was prompt in providing the estimate. Initially my elderly Mother-in-Law did not want to deal with moving out furniture and elected to do the minimum necessary to repair the damage. Once the work began, however, it was evident that more work needed to be done to correctly repair the damage. Pat Freilinger, the owner, and the assigned workman, Chris, convinced my Mother-in-Law that they should do what was necessary to do the job right. In the end Chris did a fantastic job removing wall paper in the entire room, repairing plaster, sealing cracks, and painting the room. The work was done on a timely basis and the end result was fantastic. Both Chris and Pat kept us informed of the progress and Chris helped my Mother-in-Law put the room back together when all of the work was finished. "New walls were built using paneling that matched existing paneling.  I had asked for a 3-foot-high box with removable or hinged lid to be built around the sump pump to keep the cat from playing with it; Jamie recommend a closet instead of a box, which was acceptable to me, and will prove to be a better choice when I have the sump pump discharge rerouted away from sanitary sewer. <br /> Sump pump failed overnight during construction.  I had not moved in yet, so I was glad that the workers altered me.  With my authorization they had a new sump pump installed, removed the soaked carpet, and ran dehumidifiers to dry out the basement. <br /> One door was installed opening opposite my request, but this was too minor a detail to ask for a correction. <br /> New doors and trim were stained and varnished, and all messes were cleaned up completely.  Very happy with the work.  Solar tube (skylight) in bathroom is wonderful!"
