"I hired this contractor for a master bathroom remodel with a contract value exceeding $50,000 and paid a $12,000 deposit. Within the first two days of work, it became clear that the quality, planning, and site safety did not meet professional standards. Issues included inadequate floor and HVAC protection during demolition, failure to seal plumbing, improper handling of a mold issue, lack of basic site coordination (including no dumpster on demo day), and cabinetry ordered incorrectly and modified to fit. Communication was poor, and at one point a worker was left alone on site and asked my husband for instructions on how to complete the work. I terminated the contract early due to these concerns and requested a fair partial refund. I sent a detailed letter with photographic documentation via certified mail, which was signed for. Six months later, I have received no response and no refund. I am sharing this experience so other homeowners can make an informed decision. Based on my ex"

"LVP looks great and tile in the kitchen look great but the trim and baseboards were not finished and I had to have another contractor come in and install them. The stairwell was sanded and stained and I was told they could match the stain for the stairs to the LVP and that wasn’t true either. The stairs came out pink. Now I’m having another contractor come in and fix. I would not recommend to a friend."

Chris stated that HHM Construction had been in business for 10+ years and had completed both residential and commercial work. After our initial meeting, I received a bid roughly 25 days later. I had already done my homework?I had my architectural plans, survey, and had met with the City of Charlotte twice, so I knew exactly what could be built on my property. However, I immediately noticed that Chris listed the wrong square footage for my units. After eight months, No subdivided plot. No references. No follow-through. Nothing but excuses and delays. PLEASE ASK FOR 4 REFERENCES FIRST!!"

"Terrible to work with.Took much longer to build than was quoted. Concrete inspection failed twice. As a result the floor is not level and is out of square. Framing inspection failed. To save costs, we said we would stain the wood. We thought all of the wood was provided which we stained. Then more wood was brought in which they installed without first letting us stain it. We had to stain the main beam once it was installed because of their poor communication. Framers removed the attaching house roof & left it uncovered. It rained that night and we had rain in our kitchen and living room. Ceiling & walls had to be redone. Painter they hired was a poor communicator. Never came when he said he would. When he did come, he managed to paint our kitchen curtains and painted shut one of the ceiling kitchen vents. Left his equipment for days in our porch area, kept saying he would be by to pick it up. The only time Fred came by was to pick up payments, never checked the quality of work done by his employees. We could go on, but there was not much good to report about this contractor. Stay away from!"

"Very quick and smooth except for a last minute change in our shower wall tile. The tile guy said my choice of tile was too small. I love my new bathroom though. Paul has been gradually improving our house since we moved in 12 years ago"
