"Very well! Installers showed up on time and got started right away. They moved the furniture without a scratch. Removed the old carpet and hauled it away. Installed the new carpet in a timely manner. Cleaned up and vacuumed the new carpet and moved the furniture back again without a scratch. Job well done and the installers were easy to work with. I would defiantly recommend S&G Carpet and use them again. We used S&G Carpet when we first moved in back in 2007 after we had some water damage from a broken water line. Easy company to work with.
"

"
We were getting a vacant home ready to sell that had been occupied by a tenant with a pet and small child for 6 years, We thought we may have to replace the carpet, as it was stained in quite a few spots and had issues with bunching in several areas that had become loose from the carpet strips. Jeff from Rug Bug gave us an estimate in mid-July, but advised that we wait on the carpet cleaning until the very last thing before we listed the house for sale, so that any other repairs/cleaning/painting was done prior to the rug cleaning. We called back 2.5 months later to schedule the cleaning, and Rug Bug honored the original estimate price $110 for cleaning and $170 for stretching the carpet. The carpet looked AWESOME and we did not have to replace it as we originally had thought. We were VERY pleased with their service from start to finish (and, a "shout out" to Mary in the front office, who was wonderful to deal with, as well!) and we're already planning to use them again to clean the carpets in our own house.

"

"The house is 16 years old, cement slab, and I am the original owner. Alma, Anita, and Jeff (the shop owner) were all great to work with. They helped me educate myself regarding flooring types and ranges of quality, critical to success for major purchases. They also helped me choose colors and materials that complement each other to ensure that I would be happy with the result. I secured bids from other companies as well, and Gold River Carpet One was the most competitive and provided the best quality products and best customer service.
The stone and carpet installers both finished the jobs in one day, working into the evening with my agreement, and they did the best jobs. Original estimates were 1.5 days for each, and I was happy they completed the work in one day.
The engineered wood installer did a great job "salting" the darker pieces in with the lighter pieces. The engineered wood is a lovely blond maple, and there is a lot of variation in the coloring. It looks great next to the oak cabinets in the kitchen. It took quite some time to decide on the wood because I prefer lighter floors and current fashion is for dark wood so the selection was more limited.
I chose high quality products because the cost of installation usually exceeds cost of materials.
approximate cost, including installation:
engineered wood floor in kitchen, dining room and hall $3,900
travertine stone floors in 2 bathrooms and laundry $1,600
wall to wall carpet in living room, 3 bedrooms, closets, hall, and master vanity $7,400 (included Temperpedic carpet pad)
"

"The laminate flooring in our kitchen and dining area is approximately 20 years old (if not older). A spill in the kitchen area caused several pieces to curl and separate. We contacted Simas Flooring based on the existence and promise of a "mobile showroom". We scheduled the appointment. David brought the "mobile showroom" to the house and my wife met with him. She showed him the damaged area and expressed our desire to approach this project one step at a time (the damaged area first, then probably replace the dining area later--a decision based on possible cost and whether or not we could get a decent color match). He told her that would not be a problem. At no time did he offer to bring samples in from the "mobile showroom". He did provide a very rough estimate for the work via email, but no other instructions or recommendations. I emailed him with questions regarding next steps, and the response I got was "you will need to come in to the store"--no other communication. This was annoying as this meant the benefit of the "mobile showroom" was negated. We went to the store on a day that we had confirmed David would be there; he was nowhere to be found. Thomas then came to assist, but was brusque, told us (not asked) what we needed, dropped a sample at our feet and vanished. We did get assistance from the other staff in the store, and they listened to our concerns. We took some samples home to color match. Thomas came out to complete the estimate. He was on time, and efficient. He was, however, somewhat condescending and unprofessional in conversation ("easy peasy" is not a term I expect to hear). He confirmed the estimate and took the deposit. Work was originally scheduled to be completed on 11/2, but could not be done as moisture and potential mold was discovered when the old floor was removed. We also had a vacation planned. We took care of the moisture issued and rescheduled the appointment for 11/11. Justin was the installer and was at all times professional, informative and responsive to our concerns. He completed the work quickly and professionally. He was without a doubt the best representative of the company. After the work was completed, we received an invoice for the balance due on or about 11/18 (invoice date was 11/16). I paid the invoice by check on 11/30. The company called us on 12/1 about our unpaid balance, which I believe is just a bit aggressive in terms of collection if you're not going to collect payment at time of service. Up until this point, we had considered using Simas in the future for other flooring projects (since we were very happy with the installer and the installation) but given the poor performance of the sales staff (David and Thomas) and the avariciousness of the billing people it is highly unlikely that we would consider or recommend this company. It's not just the work performed that generates good will and returning business.
"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in McClellan Park, CA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
