"The purchase was fine, the installation wasn't so great, because we kept playing phone tag, however they finally came, and installed the carpet. However, they weren't professional as I thought they should be. They went out, smoked, that was fine, but they left their cigarette butts on my property, and they also said their vacuum cleaner wasn't working, so, we had to vacuum up the carpet clippings and carpet, ourselves. I give them low ratings and probably would continue to use Lowe's because of the low price."

"I decided to wait a few months after the installation to see how the carpet held up. I am very pleased. Mike came to the house and showed me samples which I appreciated. I had a lot of work done on my house and I was happy not to have to go carpet shopping. I based my choice on what company to use because of Angies List reviews. I told Mike I wanted good quality, a neutral color, and something that wouldn't show dirt and had a stain resistance to it. Mike showed what he was using in his own home. The color was perfect because it is sort of a beige taupe which I thought would work well with grays and tans just incase I decided to change colors of walls or decor. My carpet is very high quality and I love it. Everyone likes it. For flow in my house the walls are one color and my carpet is also. But each room's décor is different and this carpet works well with them all.. I also have dark hardwood floors with various area rugs through out. I love my house and I think it is beautiful. Mike and his apprentice who were both very nice did the install in one day. There was a reasonable charge for moving heavy bedroom furniture, but the cost of the carpet which was top of the line was $2963.38. I have no problems with seams or stretching or anything else. Not sure what happened with that other review... and how about the one who thought she could get her house done for 99! (OMG!!)"

"They are carpet experts! They are very good at what they do. My carpets were gross when they came, and when they left the carpets looked brand new. The house was a foreclosure when we purchased it. It was a mess. There were stains everywhere. I wanted to replace the carpets, but my fiance wanted to give them a shot. I was really skeptical, but they gave my carpets a makeover. They look great now."

"They provided us with an estimate quickly, and the price was very reasonable. They installed the carpets and the dining room floor in a timeframe that worked with our schedule. Great communication every step of the way, and their quality of work is top-notch. We have already hired them for an additional project, new floors in our basement. Awesome company, we would highly recommend World Flooring to anyone in Central PA who needs carpet or laminate floors."

"They picked my carpet up on 6/19/14 and it will be brought back this week.  They have cleaned carpets for me in the past so there is no reason for me to think that there will be any problems this time. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Mechanicsburg, PA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
