"Adam, the owner of Tankless Industries, came out to assess my leaking tankless water heater and we discussed options between repair and replacement. I had several other quotes (for both repair and replacement), and between them all, Tankless quoted the best price and the quickest turnaround time. Adam presented as very knowledgeable during our initial meeting and the type of owner that took pride in his businessâ s reputation, so we went with him. Ultimately we opted for replacement as my prior unit was 13 years old and the cost to repair wasnâ t worth the investment (I should note here that Iâ m fairly knowledgeable when it comes to plumbing and plumbing equipment, so this wasnâ t an upsell situation). Brandon was our installer and did a great job. Adam even came out to review the work at the end of the day to ensure it was up to his standards. On top of that, during the quote, Adam had noted that the vent pipe for my furnace was dripping condensate down the exterior wall, damaging my stucco. During the water heater install, Brandon threw a pvc elbow on the pipe when he was finishing up. Yea, only a $1 part, but a strong testament to Adamâ s customer service and do-it-right attitude. "My initial contact with Mattioni was to simply schedule a winter check-up on the furnace in our new house. I knew the furnace, a/c, and water heater were all about 11 years old and could be in need of replacement. One month later, I’ve had Mattioni replace all three and also perform some smaller plumbing jobs after the annual healthy home plumbing inspection they offer as part of their contract program (which came free for one year after I had the furnace and a/c installed). They’ve done too much work for me to go into detail on every aspect of every job they did, but, on the whole I have been very impressed with Mattioni. Their customer service, quality, and attention to detail seems top notch. If you’re just comparing prices, they’re probably not the cheapest contractor to use, but if you factor in the quality of the service they’re providing, I think their prices are very good, which is why I rated them A in this regard. As with any big jobs like installing a furnace or water heater, small hiccups can occur - in fact, a week after the furnace was installed and I had the plumbing inspection, a small gas leak was detected. After the hot water heater was installed, one of the fittings in the pipe that leads into the water heater leaked a small amount of water and set off the alarm they installed. In my view, small hiccups like this are to be expected when new installations occur. Where Mattioni really shined was in their response to these problems. In particular, I would recognize Jared C., the plumber who did most of our plumbing work. He noticed the small gas leak and had one of the HVAC techs sent out within several hours to address it. He also returned the late the same day he had installed the hot water heater to correct the small leak that had resulted from a defective fitting. I found his attention to detail and willingness to help my wife troubleshoot over the phone and then return late after a long day and fix the small problem to be exemplary customer service. On the whole, I highly recommend Mattioni. If you’re just interested in finding the contractor with the lowest price, Mattioni is probably not going to be your preferred contractor (although they were willing to match lower quotes I received on the hot water heater install). If you’re looking for an HVAC or plumbing company that has responsive and friendly customer service, technicians that pay attention to detail and treat your house as your own, and will ensure that the job is done both correctly and with a high degree of quality, Mattioni seems to be one of the best I’ve used in my years as a homeowner. They will certainly be my go-to plumber and HVAC company for the foreseeable future."

"They were very fast to respond to my call and were able to send someone within two hours. The replacement of the hot water heater went well. For the water pipes they use copper crimp fittings instead of soldering so it will be interesting to see how that holds up over the years. My only concern is how they ran the gas line. They use Gastite CSST which is fine, but the CSST is run so it goes downward then back up and then downward again before it enters black pipe that has a moisture trap. It seems to me that if there is any moisture it will end up in the CSST instead of the trap. In addition, there is a pretty good bend in the CSST right before it goes into the trap section. Also, Teflon tape was used on the all the joints instead of joint compound. I think I will get someone from a different company to come in and take a look at it."

"Workmanship (Billy Pearsall) was excellent and done quickly; very courteous and professional. However based on various options quoted and online prices for the same heater model, it seems that the premium for same-day service and 6 yr warranty on the labor and miscellaneous parts was over $500! If I were to do it over again, I think I could have survived a week without hot water and would have ordered my own heater. As it was, the labor (and overhead?) would calculate out to ca. $300/hr."

"I looked requested quotes from several plumbers to have our water heater replaced with a new tankless water heater. One of the companies just gave a quote for a after having me take photos of the existing water heater, and the quote was for simply a replacement, not what I wanted. Another company came out after several days and said it would be awhile before they could do it because they were so busy. This was two weeks ago. Still no quote. Jon from Delaware Plumbing Professionals was out the morning after the day we called and after looking at what we had, gave us a quote right then. We waited a bit for the other quotes, and decided to go with Delaware Plumbing Professionals. Jon and his apprentice, Nick, were here as scheduled and got the job done. The installation took quite a while, but is very nicely done. They covered the floor and were careful to not make a mess. Now I have lots of hot water. Once the installation was done, Jon showed me where all the shutoff valves and controls for the water heater were. I'm very happy with the job they did. I've used this company before for a faucet replacement on an Angie's List deal and was happy with it as well. It was one reason why I decided to go with them again. I really like that just before they arrive, you get both an email and a text message telling you they are on the way, and both include a photo of the person coming, so you know who to expect and are comfortable letting them in the door. It's just an added safety measure that adds to my satisfaction."
