"The job went very well and was well done. The transitions were installed professionally and have a huge difference in how the carpet to tile look. They do other work as well and we are considering them to do the work."

"<p>Went extremely well due to the Proactive efforts by the staff!  I never had to call them!  They got things in days when it initially looked to be weeks.  Did all these jobs sequentially, so it's not like I got special treatment because I was spending a ton of money.</p> <p><br /></p> <p>You will never feel ripped off!  Going with anyone else is just taking a real gamble!</p> <p><br /></p> <p>The guys that installed the carpets used the latest and greatest stretching tools to ensure the carpets were put in place without any sags or bumps.  Excellent job!   </p> <br />"

"It went very smoothly. We were given the expectation that the tile take up would be time consuming and messy. Indeed it was. However, once the tile was removed and the floor prepped, the hardwood was installed in one day. The installer came back the following day to install the quarter round and transitions. It turned out beautifully. I think what impressed my wife and I the most was the excellent finishing work they performed."

"I was completely satisfied and will go first to Lowe's for all future needs. The most important part of this job was the installation. Taking advantage of installation deals makes life a lot easier and estimating what you will spend a whole lot easier. Installation costs can be ridiculous when they start adding charges for moving furniture around, removing and disposing of old carpet, stairway installation, etc. I was able to spend more on carpet because of the installation special available. <br />"

"Our other hardwood is no longer available. They came up with the idea to inlay a darker color where the old meets the new and fill the middle with an oak. Looks beautiful and very custom! <br /> <br />All the employees nd the owner went out of their way to accommodate our wishes. Wonderful people! <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Memphis, TN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
