Added well rotted manure and more soil, laid fabric, planted fifteen roses. In another area made a short brick path, and seeded old garden area for new lawn. Previously his crew replaced an old fence and added steps for access to the garden area. All of his crew were great, worked hard and made several excellent suggestions. Several neighbors have commented on how nice and hard working the crew was, and how well done and how great everything looks."

"I pay a monthly fee to CHW for insurance against equipment failure. Over a month ago CHW sent a repair technician to fix both of my garage doors, the technician made an adjustment on one door and chanced the opener on the other. A week or so ago the second door failed to open. Yes, my door opener is old, but the Warrantee says, if it can’t be fixed it will be replaced. CHW paid the tech $100 and said the rest $200 is on me. Please tell me why I should stay with CHW if I have to pay 2/3rds of the cost to replace the door opener? On a separate issue: Granted I accepted CHW’s offer of a Lowe’s card to replace my dishwasher, because I was unaware of how much dishwashers sell for, it cost me an additional 300. Again, please give me a reason for staying with CHW"

"It went great! Best handyman experience I've had! Gerald was extremely attentive to what I wanted, always polite, answered any questions or concerns that I had in a polite patient manner, no question I had was considered silly. He was very professional, and he proved himself very trustworthy. He did his best to make sure I got the best price possible, and got professional work. I highly recommend him and his guys. I will use him again because I get professional work and I can trust him to do what he says he'll do, and be truly respectful of what I want done, and he will expertly do the job."

"Overall, it went well, but the price ended up being a lot more than what I expected. But I can see why; they had to get inside of walls and between floors. The clog could not be repaired using the normal methods so we decided to just replace the drain line with PVC. The line that was replaced was almost 60 years old, but I think it was high quality galvanized pipe. But according to my research, even galvanized can rust after that much time. While they were here, they replaced the upstairs bathroom sink, which was also about 60 years old, and did so for a cost lower than what the average additional cost is for replacing a sink. These people always showed up when expected and cleaned up after themselves well. Despite the cost, I think they did well. The problems were fixed and it took 2 days of work. We think that while they were moving a large cabinet in the downstairs bathroom, a light switch on our bathroom wall got damaged. The plate got cracked and switch goes up and down much more easily than it used to (no tension on it). I'll try to fix this myself; Adkins does not know about this. I'm dabbling in learning how to do some of these kind of jobs. All problems we had were fixed; it's just the job turned out to be bigger than expected.. That happens."
