"While the start date of getting a new roof put on slid due to weather, the G&G crew started the roof tear-off on time. They were very thorough about what needed to be repaired. I met with the project manager, Jimmy O., onsite and he explained all that needed to be done and the associated costs. The crew had the roof dried in on day 1. The shingles were delivered in the afternoon on day 2 and the crew finished installing the shingles on day 3. The roof looks great and they left the yard with very little evidence that they had been there. I would not hesitate to use G&G again. Just understand that due to the amount of work they have and wrestling with the weather, the lead time from signing the contract to job completion can be awhile (mine took about 20 weeks but as good as they are, G&G can't control the weather!). I would rather have a quality job done right and it take longer to complete than to have an interior result."

"Ken repaired the leak we have had since we had a new enclosed porch installed in 2017. The company that installed the porch and roof came out 7 or 8 times but never could find the leak or fix it. Consequently the asphalt roof also started to leak. They did not acknowledge they were part of the problem. Ken removed 3 or 4 rows of shingles, fixed the gutter and replaced the shingles. Lo and behold- no leak a faulty install on the gutter by the porch people. Ken was also personable, He also cleaned up the mess from the shingles. I will use him again!"

My roofs were not leaking but were aged. I scheduled three different roof service companies, from HomeAdvisor, for my roofing needs. I hoped they - as the roof professionals - would tell me (1) what I did not know nor cannot see as problem areas of my roofs, (2) what roof problems, if any, need to be addressed, and (3) the cost for them to do the work. John Boyd did provide me with 1, 2 and 3. However John Boyd 's price was higher than the company I hired. Also, John Boyd failed to identified an additional roof - i.e., that ledge over my home's second story windows - in their examination. Honestly, I did not even think about it, but the company I did hire brought it to my attention with photos. Also, the hired company's price to service three roofs and gutters (house, front and back porch) plus the overlooked ledge roof was less than John Boyd's price for three roofs and two gutters. [I gave John Boyd a three out of five stars rating only because HomeAdvisor's survey does not allow you not to star rate a company you did not hire. I believe this default setting needs to change. John Boyd did not do any work for me so I did not desire to star-rate the company.]"
