"Steve and Bob were very polite, professional and easy to talk to. They really had a mess on their hands with the 60 year old rotten main septic line. As they were fixing that, they found out why that wall of the basement was always wet. I had a major leak in the sump pump line. And, even though they had been here all day working on the main septic line. They wouldn't leave until the sump pump was fixed too. You just don't find companies or workers that care that much these days. I really made the right choice in AMANDA PLUMBING! If you need a GREAT Plumber that knows what they are doing Call Amanda! All the other guys are just guys looking for a big pay check! You're going to have to get in line though. Cause I've got two more jobs for them."

"Robert Blanton and the crew from Eco Plumbers came out on a rainy wet day to check our new sump pump. We were concerned there was a clog or water leaking. They ran water into sump pump pit to test it and assessed our ground water runoff and drainage outside as well. Luckily there was no problem, and the call was complimentary. The crew was polite, punctual, and very friendly to us and our dog."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Everything went better than expected. Rick is very knowledge and personable explaining what he would do to install the water lines and the laundry sink. Most of important of all, he noticed that my sump pump hadn't been working for while as the tub was filled almost to the trim with water. Thank goodness he noticed this and replaced the pump. Otherwise I would have had a flooded basement. All is working great now. I will call them again next time I need a plumber."

"Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value I took multiple bids on my basement project across basement companies in Columbus. Mid state basement systems had the best and most fair pricing. They did not use any scare tactics and were upfront and honest. They were also the only company to use a laser level and show me the sag difference in my joists that I was experiencing. I hired mid-state basement systems to do crawl space support and repair on my load bearing wall in my basement. MY PROBLEM WAS UNIQUE AS LOAD BEARING WALLS NORMALLY DO NOT NEED TO BE REPAIRED LIKE THIS! At first, it was not level upon completion (BARELY 1/8 INCH OFF) in ONE spot and I let my sales rep Jiovanni know. the team came back out within 48 hrs and adjusted everything and let me take a look at it. They did a fantastic job. The installation crew even wiped down my floors for me after they were done! They were so polite, and respectful and made sure there was no damage to anything as they were moving steel beams to my basement ( my fridge was an object in the way to the basement door ) Do not let competitors make you question the validity of this business. they were fantastic. Rating of sales 5/5 Rating of the installation crew 5/5 Rating of management 5/5 Rating of mid-state as a company : 10/5 I do not believe I would have received this level of responsiveness of any of the competitors. I would choose mid-state basements for any basement project I had. Please use my review to know that mid-state basement systems will do the job the right way and how you need it to be done. In my experience, they offer the most fair pricing."

"I had OBA install outdoor french drains and new downspouts a couple of years before they waterproofed my basement. They were the only company I could find who did it all. Basement waterproofing included removing old, putting in new: full inside perimeter drainage, enlarge sump pit, 2 sump pumps, I-beams and carbon fiber straps. Added in brand new: battery backup for sump and vapor barrier on most affected wall. When my basement got wet a year later after the work was done, they didn't hesitate to schedule someone to inspect. If was heavy condensation, barely a thin puddle compared to 2 inches of flowing water. They had to rework a 6 ft section and add cement around the I-beams, each on their own call outs. They didn't charge because I have a lifetime warranty, transferable to the next owner. I'll be working with them again soon for a professional level dehumidifier."

"The install went as planed & scheduled, the 3 installers were great to work with and we had NO issues having them in our house! Very clean work, professional and careful not to make any mess or damage anything. The sales and marketing representatives Zane and Amanda were knowledgeable of TRANE equipment and the other top Mfg's in the industry. I've already recommended Logan HVAC to my friends, neighbors and family! We are very satisfied! with"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Milledgeville, OH

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
