Helped us find the best price on granite (their supplier was 40% less expensive than our other fabricator's supplier). They bent over backward to provide excellent service. For example, they knew we were going to retile our backslash ourselves, so they removed the old backsplash while they were removing the old granite - saving us a few hours! "Greg was very kind about waiting to schedule our job until our contractors had finished painting and installing. The floors look beautiful - better than they ever have, with a wonderful soft shine - though in a few places there is a dull trail or track, as though the buffer did not polish a line of the liquid. The most disappointing thing was that we spent a few hours after they left cleaning red marks off of our recently painted white baseboards and splashes of polish off of our newly installed cabinets and appliances. Even though they put blue covering tape over the toe kicks, we found polish splashed 6 inches or more above the tape. We had to repaint the dark brown baseboards in one room because we could not remove the polish stains. We suspect that Greg was trying to accommodate us by squeezing our job in as soon as he could, but that he may not have allowed enough time to do what was probably a 2 day job. They scheduled to arrive at 9:30 and showed at 10:15, which further shortened their day. We would hire him again, because he did a really nice job, but next time, we will prepare more and insist on more time and a higher level of protection for floors and cabinets."

"During construction of large custom home (7800 sq. ft under roof), became worried that our custom builder's shower pans were of low quality construction despite his assurances to the contrary.  Since we were installing high end special order marble and mosaics in each shower . . . was losing sleep due to the possibility of having to rip that marble out in a year's time due to poor quality shower pans and possibly leaking.  Additionally, the timeframe to begin installing the shower marble was soon upon me . . . and it terrified me.  I contacted a regional construction representative that I knew and asked for a referral.  He advised that there was one (and only one) individual that he would recommend in the entirety of the Houston area to do the job right the first time . . . and that was Tom Ferris with Katy Tile & Marble.  So - that same day, in late March of 2015, I contacted Tom Ferris and informed him of my concerns.  We meet at the construction site  a few days later and did a walk through of the house.  He listened to my concerns and asked questions. He agreed that the current shower pans appeared to pose a few problems.  Tom agreed to take on the tasks of ripping out all shower pans, rebuilding all shower pans - one of which was 9' x 6', installing 24"x24" slate in kitchen, office, pantry, laundry, closets and dining.  Installing 18"x18" high end marble in extensive foyer and gallery hall.  Installing carpet in living, study, 4 bedrooms and all closets.  Installing special order high end mosaic on floor of powder room, floor of 9'x6' master shower, special order glass mosaic in bath #3 and special order mosaic in bath #4.  Installing kitchen backsplash.  Installing marble on all bathroom floors including marble baseboards where desired.  In the master, we also had marble on the wall behind the large master tub as well as marble window sills.  When Tom's guys ripped out the master bathroom shower pan that my builder had installed - after only 3 months - the shower pan had already failed and there was water damage between the shower pan and the OSB board foundation of the house.  Had Tom not agreed to help me . . . I would've been forced . . . due to time constraints . . . to keep the shower pans as built by our builder.  That would have certainly led to a shower pan failure and complete bathroom rip out within 1 to 2 years of living in the house which would have equated to a huge amount of capital to fix. <br /> Over several weeks, Tom's guys were there every day . . . listening to my design ideas and coming up with a plan.  They were communicative and respectful of the property.  And . . . I am here to tell you that there are construction crews that clean up after themselves . . . because I have video proof that Tom's crews do just that.  It was absolutely a shock to find the work sites neat and clean after a day's work because was I used to my builder's work crews and the tossed lunches, open soda cans, crushed cigarettes and other filth which littered the job site on a daily basis. <br /> Tom's crews did exactly what was discussed . . . in the timeframe that was agreed upon . . . and in the manner upon which it was agreed.  Building a large custom home is difficult enough . . . but when you don't trust your builder . . . it becomes a nightmare.  After firing my builder from all tiling, backsplashes, carpet, showers and bathrooms . . . Tom took on the tasks expertly and without fail.  I could go on and on about Katy Tile & Marble . . . they absolutely SAVED my home from certain future disaster. <br /> I plan to completely tile our master bathroom walls with special order glass mosaic in a few months . . . and the only company that I would allow to perform this work would be Katy Tile & Marble.  We worked together every day and Tom Ferris championed my causes.  He listened to my ideas and was always supportive and ready to infuse his knowledge into the situation.   I am told that I am a very difficult individual to please because I want it right the first time.  No second chances.  Tom Ferris lived up to his promises and then some. <br />"
