"Owner of the company came to my property and he gave me a thorough bid covering the cleanup and disposal of 30 yrs of debris. He had his own dumpster trailers and his own equipment necessary to do the job. I am a very environmentally conscious person and he took the time to separate recyclables and lawn debris in different dumpsters for removal. He also gave me a fair bid to do the differed maintenance on my out buildings around my property and was able to restore multiple buildings that other contractors said would have to be torn down-removed and built new at a larger expense. We’ve recently had him back to build a hot tub surround with transparent roofing out of 120 yrs old barn wood posts that was saved from a building that couldn’t be remodeled. Definitely will have him back for future projects, highly recommended."

"Eugene is so capable, talented and amazing! He single handedly put all of our furniture out of the way so he can start installing our floor. He removed the toilet to install the floor and FIX OUR TOILET! He then removed our refrigerator, range, and dishwasher ALL BY HIMSELF!! He originally told me he would have my floor done in 5 days but finished in 3 days. Before he left I asked him to give me an estimate for our carpeted area. We will have him install our carpet next. We requested some little things he even went right to Home Depot to help us finish the job. I will highly recommend using Flooring Pro Inc. "I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."

"Well, the place looks nice - bottom line. The problem is I had to watch them like a hawk. 1). They prepped the house without any mildew remover. They were all set to paint over serious mildew in several areas. When I called Tyler, he said the mildew preventative in the paint would kill the existing mildew on the house. Well, I've read that isn't true. It doesn't kill what's there, it prevents more. Anyway when I protested Tyler instantly sent someone around and sprayed with a mildew remover. 2). I was clear as crystal - do not paint over rotten wood. Tell us so we can have this corrected. They painted right over obvious rotten wood in several areas. I called Tyler and he immediately sent out a first-rate carpenter ( who I think is his partner) who fixed the places we pointed out. He said he's taken a walk around to check if there were any other rotten wood -- and said there was not. 3). We inspected -- which we should have done in the first place. We found multiple totally rotten shingles that had to be replaced. Again, we called and the first-rate carpenter came out and took care of it - fine job, too. 4). We noticed that the painters just ignored a front window and left a few areas of bare wood but the first-rate carpenter fixed that too when we called. So - we ended up, I hope with a nice paint job. However, the last time I had the house painted I didn't need to watch over the painters. They came to me whenever they saw rotten wood. They didn't dream of painting over mildew. They didn't just leave areas of bare wood. Innovative Painting Pro was several hundred dollars less expensive than our other bids and so I've learned a lesson. I'd again like to say that whenever I called Tyler and complained he instantly sent someone and they took care of everything. Every time."

"We received the pads, they are exactly as we ordered, seem to be excellent quality. We would certainly use this company again. The only thing that could be improved is acknowledgement of our order (which we mailed in--almost has to be done this way since one sends a graphic of the table shape with the order). We thought they would probably email us when they received the order and/or let us know about when to expect it to be filled. What did happen was that after a while, we called, and got that confirmation and estimated time over the phone."

"I have lived in this house for 25 years, and the only project I truly feared was siding.  I have made LOTS of changes to the property  over time, but always stopped short of siding.  This was a scary project, but I signed-up because of Fine Finish Remodeling's reputation on Angie's list, etc.   Also, the siding REALLY needed to be replaced -- in some areas, it was practically held together by paint.  Other exterior improvements (roof, front door and garage door) were being done by other contractors, during the same time period.

-- Mark Stevens is owner / contractor of Fine Finish Remodeling.  He did an excellent job of communicating and moving this project along, and referring out to others as needed.  The supervisor,  Kevin Dunsworth was great, and the house shows that. 

-- Delays happened, because they do.  The contractor had some issues. The weather was sometimes lousy.  PARR lumber delivered some of the materials to somewhere else, which stopped work for about a week.  Holidays happened. People had illnesses.   Siding work stopped while  the roof was repaired and replaced (2 days).  ETC.   In general, I was impressed to watch the changes take shape.  I believe it all moved along as quickly as it could.

--I was part of the problem too.  Two different garage door companies had volunteered their opinion that I could have one BIG garage door, rather than 2 smaller doors, if I wanted to do that.  It would be no problem, according to them.  I talked to Mark, about this, and he told me what could happen if the garage door men were wrong, and recommended I consult a  structural engineer first.  He gave me a name; I called; and the short version is a huge new beam was needed.  It took 6 men to lift that into place.  The final garage door outcome is perfect. Many thanks to Mark for coordinating the extra work my super-sized garage door required.

--Logistically, the siding was removed and replaced from sides and back of house first, leaving the street appearance somewhat intact until the end.  Hardie Plank siding comes with color, but the trim is just primed, so my family did a lot of painting in our garage, and other locations.  Kevin was kind enough to give warning when there was trim to paint for an inside angle, since that would have been nasty to do after it was installed.  I had one area outside the master bedroom that had always looked strange, for the way the old trim and siding met under the eaves.  I pointed that out, and Kevin fixed it with the new trim and siding. 

--When the house was finished, it was slightly wider than it used to be, sufficiently that the downspouts no longer fit. Mark gave me the names of area gutter companies, and the first one came right out and made new downspouts and cleaned the gutters too for a great price.

--The house exterior is done, and it looks great-- and the street noises are much quieter, and odd drafts are gone.  My scary project turned out to be a good experience with a happy outcome."

"When John came to the house, one of the rollers coincidentally broke apart. John advised that because of the weight of the 16 foot wood door, I needed heavy duty steel wheel rollers that he did not have on hand (rather than plastic wheel rollers) and rescheduled to install them. He came back and installed the rollers, tightened and lubricated the hinges and advised on general maintenance."
