"The serviceman, Russ, came out to service our heating system as we had a contract to have routine maintenance done (bought in the spring). I was little late getting home as he arrived at 2:00 for the 2-4:00 window. The office called me and I told them I was almost home and she said he could so some checking outside until I got there...no problem. When I arrived home, he was very irate because he had to wait and he said that he didn't need to do anything outside. He didn't speak to me most of the visit and didn't explain what he did or the condition of our system. Russ had also serviced our ac units the previous May when he seemed more interested in selling me a service contract than addressing our ac issues. My husband and I had developed some health problems over the past year, so in January, I had a mold and toxins expert come to inspect. He found mold growing on the outside case of our ac unit in the attic. When they opened it up, the coil was corroded to the point that it was leaking freon and very rusted and moldy. I feel like that should have been caught when we had our units serviced. We had to pay another company $523 to reservice our units and to get rid of the mold in the duct system and clean the coil. I did contact Ragsdale to let them know and they refunded half the cost of the contract ($148) and were very apologetic. They had also serviced our units for the past two years, so I feel like the health problems that I had and are now going away, could have been avoided had the mold issue been seen when they were in the attic servicing the unit. We had out of pocket medical expenses of over $5000 last year."
