"The owner, Ray, showed up on time and in person for our initial consultation. Ray is very knowledgeable and thorough, and throughout the entire project he kept us updated on the progress. When the project was finished, we were extremely pleased with the results. We will definitely be calling Pafford Electrical Services for all of our future electrical needs. When Ray shows up at your home, you can immediately tell that your project isn’t just another job to him—your project is treated with genuine care, attention to detail, and a commitment to getting it done right the first time. Highly recommend!"

"Mr. Felts and his crew showed up as planned. They were quiet and kept to the job at hand. The job was to wire a large shed with outlets and breaker box with outside lighting as well. They wired shed to home at the breaker box. I had lost so much confidence in people doing a job and correctly for a fair price and in a timely manner. These guys have given us hope. The did excellent work as discussed and at a fair price. The entire job and it was not a small undertaking was completed and CLEANED UP! in 1.5 days. There is no way to express how pleased we are with these guys. They are professionals and we are looking at another project to het them back. I will use them not matter how big or small. They are super fantastic and you will not be surprised but instead pleased. P.S. My husband wondered if their reviews were a hoax since we have so much bad luck with workers and the jobs they performed and the quality of work afterwards. He is a believer too...the reviews and THIS review is honest from the heart due to we KNOW what it is like to be taken advantage of and screwed over. Premium Electric is not the correct name it should be "EXCELLENT ELECTRIC"!!!! good luck with any projects in the future but if you need electric this is the place to hire."

"

Mr. John Sherlock arrived at the time and date specified to give us an estimate.  He returned the following day with his assistant and performed the job in one day.  He installed 26 copper lightning rods on the flat roof of our 7,000 square foot home.  These rods were connected with 500 feet of heavy duty copper cable and were grounded at three points with ground rods going down through the drainpipes into the ground. All parts of the system were securely attached to the roof.  He did a neat job and cleaned up all excess materials.  We were very pleased with the job him did.  Since installation of the lightning rod system we have had no trouble with lightning striking the house or causing power outages or surges.

"They're pretty good. I think overall they're good, I'm happy I have it. They can be problematic, that's if you don't know your contract and what's covered or not. It's fine. I like it. I like American Home Shield. They don't really vary in cost. They do respond to you. They send really decent referrals and you really don't have to do too much. They have different plans, so it's up to the person to find the plan and know what they are getting. When you call they suggest you go online. So when you go online and it does not turn out what they say, then they say you should have called. It's just a circular thing. When you put a claim in online, it only gives you a category and no opportunity for details and that's a problem. All my electrical smoke alarms went off in the middle of the night. It was horrible, I had to get up on a ladder at 2:00 am in the morning and pull out wires in the ceiling. To me it was an electrical issue, but they dismissed it. Because I couldn't tell them that in the service request, I just put electrical and it was a big problem. They're website needs to have a note, a comment. It would be great instead of a category to add some comments. They don't have that."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Moultrie, GA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
