"Rather than pay $500+ for parts and labor to replace my old garbage disposal, I was advised by the pro that the model I had was much simpler to replace “do-it-yourself” style. The nice guy I spoke to (can’t remember his name, probably the owner?) asked me a few questions: what model, did I try xyz, how old was it? Then he said it wasn’t a very tough job and I could purchase the same model and attach it myself to save on the labor. The pro was honest and helped me over the phone, despite not needing his services, which was very cool. On his rec, I went to the Depot, bought the same (Insinkerator badger 500) unit for $170ish. Not bad at all. And with a bit more YouTube perusal, a few basic tools and some elbow grease… wouldn’t you know it! Success! In about 90 minutes, I had a new working garbage disposal, a pretty good workout and peace of mind. Would definitely call again when I have a more challenging project. Kind, honest, knowledgeable folk!"

"The service technician was punctual, respectful and very knowledgeable. He found the problem with the dishwasher almost immediately and was honest about the nature of the problem. I was expecting to have to fix the pump, but he found a few scraps that were obstructing the turbine and not allowing for proper drainage. All he had to do was clean up the scraps. My "antique" Chamberlin wall oven caught his eye and when I described to him that the oven would not turn on unless I set it at 500 degrees and that another technician had told me that he couldn't fix it ,he simple took out a small screw driver and adjusted the thermostat and the oven began to work properly once again. Amazing. This guy is a genius. He only charged me the basic service charge. I would definitely use him again."

"I hired Yari based on positive Angie's List reviews.  Overall, I'd give him a luke warm rating, and MIGHT use him again, though would probably investigate some other options first.  The work done overall was good, however...

The clean-up was poor.  There was a LOT of small broken tile bits and dust left over after they replaced the kitchen tiles.  I have cats (as they saw), and they could have very easily tracked sharp small bits of broken tile on their paws from the loads of it left on the kitchen floor and in the grooves where the grout is.  When they repaired the broken stucco outside, they left dust and debris at the site and obviously threw the remaining water/plaster/mortar/whatever mix through a fence and into my neighbor's yard (am going to try and attach pix - I think I can do that here).  The price he quoted me was for parts and labor ASSUMING I had all those parts already.  I had to go myself with one of his workers to a nearby plumbing supply store to pick up needed items.

He was very responsive in person and by phone, and very cordial and prompt.  The work was decent enough.  I don't know enough about home repairs and contracting to know how fair the price was, but it seemed to be in the ballpark. 

Overall recommendation : Proceed, but with caution, and make sure you're clear from the outset what exactly your needs are and what exactly he's promising to provide.  And make sure they clean up properly before leaving."

A week ago, I used another repairman that was recommended by a friend & he showed me how to circumvent the broken knob and use my washer which I did do with great success!"
