Jamar is an exemplary company on all fronts - workmanship, professionalism, conscientiousness, punctuality and price. <br /> Owner Jim Catanzaro's son and manager / foreman Greg was my point person from estimate to finish. He was always friendly but professional (as well as a skilled craftsman), and always THERE. From the get go, his estimate was timely and detailed, but easy to understand and surprisingly *under* any of the other competitive estimates I received (which was a big shock since they were the highest rated company) . Never once was I "sold" to or condescendingly told what I should do. I felt listened to which made it more collaborative. <br /> Materials were delivered in a timely fashion. When work commenced, my house is an old tudor that posed a lot of unique installation "surprise" problems almost every step of the way. Greg and crew addressed each problem above and beyond the call (and price) of the contract and never came to me to renegotiate or increase the agreed price of the contract. <br /> The crew was polite, unobtrusive and cleaned up daily after work was finished. All work was skillfully completed in the time scheduled and everything looks great. <br /> Above and beyond: Along the way the crew found issues that needed to be addressed that were outside the parameters of this job. Greg presented the issues and possible solutions without ever making me feel like it was urgent or he was selling more services to me. In fact I had to ask him, "When I get around to it, can *you* guys do that for me?" lol. Also we decided that new doors should be added to the job. When the estimate came back too high for my budget, Greg worked diligently with me to find a satisfactory way to reduce the cost. Full disclosure, I simply didn't have the budget for the doors or further repair but I can tell you that when I do, I won't have anyone but Jamar do the work. <br /> The best work, materials and communication for the lowest price? "Owner visited house to assess job and give me price. We made appointment to fit my schedule. He phoned ahead on day of service. He arrived first, followed by truck with two workers. I asked if soap being used was biodegradable, and would not harm my shrubs. It was biodegradable. Power washing is done with warm water and soap, provided by his truck. (I provided water only.) Therefore, there was no need for overly aggressive power washing spray, which can damage siding. His method is excellent. Can't tell you enough how impressed I am with the job. House looks brand new! Mold and mildew from siding and white aluminum trim, especially, are gone. Green algae gone. (He did my slate front steps, too.) Gentle Giant provides a wonderful service. Five stars. The estimate was very fair, and he scheduled the repair work to coincide with our plumbers who had to remove the water heater. Plaster and drywall work was excellent, clean up was excellent, and he even re-attached a door molding for us. Very responsive and excellent service. Highly recommended."
