"We worked with Shawn at Carpet Carousel to replace all the carpeting on our second floor. We told Shawn that, with young kids, we needed a very durable carpet that also looked nice. He showed us a few options and explained the pros/cons of each without trying to upsell us or give us something we didn't need. Once we decided to purchase and scheduled installation, the team of installers were fabulous. Not only did they have to work around other contractors (we were at the end of ice dam repairs), but they were clean and courteous as well. The finished carpets look awesome and we couldn't be happier. They even left us several large remnants so that we can have them cut/bound into area rugs or bathmats if desired. Overall, we couldn't be happier with Carpet Carousel and will definitely go back for additional rug and carpet needs <br />"

"We had an outstanding experience with David of Melrose Oriental Carpet Company.  I had used them before to clean and repair a few carpets that had major problems and they pulled through 100%.  One of the carpets was in horrible shape after I tried different solvents to get rid of pet stains and David said that he would try to rewash and apply a coloring process but did not know if it would work. So he said he would try and if I liked the outcome, only then would I pay him. This an unheard of very generous approach, which I appreciated. <br /> <br /> After that great experience, we decided to get all the carpets (a large varied assortment from years of living in Asia) cleaned, moth protected and going to further protect my carpets by getting pads that were suited to the type of carpet and its size and location in the room.  I was again rushing off on another trip. So, David was very responsive and flexible and squeezed me in before I left.  He also did a very detailed job of costing out all the carpets with all the options, so that I could decide what I wanted to do. I thought that the fees were very reasonable as well.  So in summary, I would unanimously recommend Melrose Oriental Company (and they're even family owned for a few generations) for any carpet cleaning or repair needs!"

"Nick was great to work with.  From the very beginning in suggesting carpets to look at for our needs, to borrowing the boards for color comparison to working within our budget, everything was very transparent.  The installers were incredibly professional, very careful of our house (it was raining the day of our installation so they wiped their boots all day long) and cleaned up nicely.  Very happy and highly recommend. <br />"

"I have used this company twice to do my carpets and was amazed at how they can get the carpets so clean. I had stains from 5 plus years ago that are now gone. Carpet is 20 years old and looks amazing. Craig did my carpets this time on 12-4-17 and did an awesome job. Very friendly and personable. For the price paid its definitely worth the money. Will use again and try a different service they offer. Thanks again for making my home clean in time for the holidays."

"I purchased remnants to recarpet two bedrooms in a rental property in Reading. The price was reasonable and the service was outstanding. Village Carpet was able to hold the carpet until I was ready for it as some minor construction was being performed and I was not ready for the carpet to be installed. After I scheduled it, the installation was prompt, complete, and professional."

"Don is neat and organized. The stone and concrete  were broken up,  loaded into buckets and carried to his truck for disposal. Then the exposed subfloor need shimming and repair. He has to build up the subfloor 2"  then installed new hardwood. <br>we told Don we only had four days instead of five to complete the project and he made that happen. Don is a pleasure to have working in your home. Have used him several times and will do so again."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Nashua, NH

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
