"Travis, who was amazing, came out to test my residence. He was early, down to earth, and professional. He reassured me that I was not crazy, that he could tell after 10 minutes of being in my apartment that I had a mold issue. Travis continued his testing, which was very detailed, efficient, yet a quick process. My tests were sent in for lab testing and it came back as positive for mold throughout my apartment. Travis and the team at Critical Environment helped me prove that my residence was the cause of my illness and was the proof I needed to get my lease terminated. This was an absolute answer to my prayers. In my opinion, there is no better company to test your home than Critical Environment. A month after Travis tested my place a client of mine was complaining about health issues, I told them about my experience with critical environment. They called and Travis came out the NEXT DAY and tested. You will not find a more professional and proficient company than CE."

"After the testing, I was called and my test report sent to me. The test expert on the phone went over the results with me. He told me what the numbers meant and then explained that I had 3 of the most toxic molds growing in my house. He said that the results were so concerning, he then immediately connected be to Biocide Labs to have them tell me what to do to rid the toxic mold from my house."

"Our radon system indicator showed that it wasn't working so I called Protech who had installed it about 6-7 years ago.  Of course our 5 year warranty was up so we had to pay for the new fan/pump, but they gave me a 2 hour window (as opposed to 4 hours some other places) and they came early.  Friendly and professional, one guy got right to work doing the replacing outside while Doyle came in, did the paperwork, explained the new warranty and the need for a larger pump.  He inspected the inside pipe and indicator and I started asking questions about moisture and mold which he answered and looked at another area of the cellar for me.  He seemed very knowledgeable and answered my many questions and recommended a company that could do what I needed done.  I have been very happy with this company. <br />"

"The staff was very nice, flexible and friendly.  They scheduled us promptly and were able to change easily when our power went out.  The concern was that a bothersome  stain remains (they weren't sure they could remove it and didn't).  There is also now a stain or moderate discolored area at our entry like the stained water had seeped and spread.  They worked very fast which is positive and negative.  Another provider many years ago took longer but was able to remove all stains.  We just got tired of them calling every continuously to schedule more work.  Perhaps the one stain is permanent and no one could have removed it.  The new area is bothersome.  I didn't re-contact but am going to try someone else and see what happens.  The people at Camelot are very nice...maybe just not as professional and focused on getting the very best results that they can get.  Not sure.  Will see if the next company performs like our old provider."

"We called Kenny Dollins (Dollins Construction) after frost heave left our deck noticeably twisted and draining water toward the house.  We discussed this situation and the various options for repair vs. replacement. There was no pressure to choose a certain path. We decided to remove the old deck and replace it, making it larger while we were at it. Kenny was very responsive to our concerns about proper drainage and ensured the area was regraded. We were able to see first hand how well the water drained away from the house during a heavy rain just after this regrading.  He also discussed with us possible materials and design options for the deck, encouraging us to think these over before making a final decision. <br /> The Dollins crew was very nice and always professional. The work was high quality.  They pay great attention to detail, e.g. only the best boards used, cuts clean and straight; and the final product is beautiful.  The job site was left clean at the end of each day. Everyone was friendly and pleasant to us.  I was also impressed with Kenny's interaction with his his crew, giving instructions, answering questions, and giving correction when necessary, with patience, clarity and respect.  We would be happy to have Dollins Construction back for a future project and would recommend them to others. <br />"

"Unfortunately this is the 3rd time in 2 years (different houses, different issues) that I have had to use On site.  This time it was to test and remove mold in my basement but I have also used them to remove water and dry the room out.  <br /> Everyone I spoke with warned me that mold remediation companies would use scare tactics to oversell services and charge extremely high rates.  Not at all the case with On site.  Each time I have worked with Jason who is both knowledgeable and professional.   <br /> Jason reassured me that I had a manageable concern, worked with me every step of the way and made me feel confident that the issue had been resolved without going "overboard".   I appreciated his continuous follow-up and the entire team's commitment to quality.    <br />    <br /> I have referred others to On site in the past and they have all been very satisfied with their work and pricing.   <br />"

FAQs for mold & toxic material test projects in Nashville, MI

Some companies offer a no‑cost phone or video consultation that screens for red flags. If the discussion points to a real issue, the pro will recommend a paid on‑site inspection. The complimentary call clarifies whether you need full testing, but it isn’t a substitute for samples, lab work, or a written report. Always confirm what the free service covers before you schedule.

A standard inspection, which includes basic air and surface samples, takes an average of two hours. If the pro needs to probe hidden spaces, such as wall cavities or ductwork, plan on up to six hours. Extra time allows the inspector to reach tight areas, collect additional samples, and document findings. Lab analysis is a separate process and often adds several business days to the overall timeframe before you receive the full report.

Mold thrives where moisture lingers and air flow is poor. Common hotspots include bathroom walls, kitchen backsplashes, window sills, HVAC vents, fireplaces, crawl spaces, and enclosed attics. Check these areas regularly—especially after leaks or high‑humidity weather—to catch growth early and avoid costly repairs.

Unchecked mold can knock 20% to 37% off a home’s market value because buyers worry about hidden damage and health risks. Even after remediation, visible staining or a history of major moisture issues can still lower offers and prolong the time on the market. Addressing mold quickly protects both your property’s structural integrity and its resale appeal.
