"I contracted with them from Florida to redo my elderly in-laws roof up in Arkansas. I performed an internet search for local roofers and began soliciting for quotes. Adams and Son were responsive and their cost was competitive, so I took a chance and contracted w/ them to put a new roof on. They are a family owned business and I cant say enough about how great this company performed in everyway, from contracting, to scheduling, the actual work, and the follow up. They were punctual, the materials were delivered when they said they would be, and they performed an outstanding job. They had the old roof off in one day and the new roof on the second day. I would highly recommend this company and they were delightful to work with."

"Robert was very professional and courteous. He showed up when he said he would and did a great job removing old chipped paint and then repainting the trim work and fixing a badly rotted door frame. i was quite impressed with the quality of his work. He also replaced some insect damaged wood above the front steps and painted that. He cleaned up everything completely after the job was done. I would highly recommend Robert to anyone wanting some painting and/or home repairs done right. <br />"

"A&A did remove materials and installed  some new walls, ceilings and some flooring. They gave an estimate for the entire job and an approximate time line for job completion.  The cost estimate covered 1/2 or less of the remodel cost and the time for completion would have been at least 2 times longer than estimated.  A&A did not provide crews for work, but one person did most of the actual labor.  They did have a Sheetrock finishing crew that did some work, but not all the Sheetrock  finishing.  After 5 months the job was 1/2 done and there was not 1 room in the house that was completed.  Every room was started (at some level of dismantling), but nothing was completed.  We lived 2 hours away and could not monitor hours worked or days worked and  the last 2 months A&A worked for us, we believe their schedule was very erratic as far as far as working to complete our job. <br />   The floor tile work was done well.  The construction of a safe room was well done.  There may have been problems that caused a delay in completion, but we were never told or consulted about the discrepancy in the time estimates.  We did modify some of the details of the remodel and understood that the additions would add to the cost, but not double the cost.  Another company was hired to complete the job."

FAQs for basement remodeling projects in Natural-dam, AR

Finishing a basement turns unused square footage into livable space and returns up to 70% of what you spend when you sell your home. Beyond that resale boost, you gain a playroom, home office, or guest suite you can start enjoying right away. That mix of daily comfort and solid return on investment (ROI) makes basement finishing one of the smartest upgrades you can tackle.

In some parts of the country—especially lots on swamps, high water tables, or other wetlands—local codes prohibit basements. Saturated soil puts constant pressure on foundation walls and lets water seep in faster than any sump pump can handle.

If your property sits on waterlogged ground, building on a slab or crawl space is often safer, more affordable, and code-compliant.

Most basements wrap up in four to eight weeks. Framing takes three to five days, with electrical and plumbing rough-ins following over the next week. Add five days for drywall, two to three for flooring, and another week for paint, trim, and punch-list items.

Delays can happen if materials run late or your contractor’s calendar is packed, so build in a little cushion when you plan.

Whether a finished basement counts toward your home’s official square footage depends on local rules. Many areas only include below-grade space if it has code-approved egress, fully finished walls, ceilings, and floors, plus consistent heating.

Check with your local assessor or building department before you start; meeting those standards can affect taxes, appraisals, and resale value.

Building codes require a checklist: dedicated heat and electrical service, a code-approved stairway, and at least one egress window or exterior door. Walls, ceilings, and floors must be fully finished and meet insulation, ventilation, and fire-separation standards. If you add a bedroom, you’ll also need a closet, proper clearances, and safe exits. If you change the layout later, be ready to update the space so every new room still meets today’s code.
