"The men arrived bright and early, tools in hand. They ran a new hot water pipe under my house. They put plastic up on a large side porch for us, and then checked the water pipe for leaks before they left. They did a great job, and were finished quickly. Although I originally hired Mr Coleman to take care of my yard, I also depend on Rent-a-Man for all our plumbing and construction needs. "

"The yearly service works out to be $50 a month. We've had two water heaters replaced through them because of a fault in them. They're usually very responsive. I like that I can request the service online. The only thing is, I wish that there was a better avenue for emergency services. If something doesn't work right away usually it takes a couple of days to get someone out and sometimes you can't wait two days without water."

In 1980, the Blanc family sold Roto-Rooter to Cincinnati-based Chemed Corporation, and Roto-Rooter moved its headquarters to Cincinnati, as well. In 1986, Roto-Rooter was spun off as a public company, with Chemed retaining majority ownership. In August 1996, Roto-Rooter again became a wholly owned subsidiary when Chemed bought back all outstanding shares.
