"Had to replace my broken porch light. As you know home projects are a big deal in the spring time. I had several and it was so easy to use Angi to help sort it out. This company/these gentlemen were ready to help and met my busy schedule. They were on time, reasonably priced, polite, updated me on their progress and patient. They showed me how the new light works and told me exactly what they did to mitigate the issue with the fixture. Thank you so much. Very satisfied"

Mister Sparky of Northern Delaware is a locally/owner run and operated business. We specialize in all facets of residential and commercial electrical services. We understand the value of building life long relationships with our customers. Workmanship guaranteed. Prompt reply to your request.
"I called Mr. Sparky because I had 2 external outlets and 1 internal outlet not working (I found out later they were on teh same circuit. After setting up an appointment, Cody O. was dispatched to my home. He introduced himself and explained he would be looking at the outlets I called about and doing an evaluation to determine what, if any, other electrical needs my home had. He looked at the outside outlets and the garage outlets (but didn't test them, which I thought was odd) and explained they were on the same circuit. He looked at the breaker panel and the outlet beneath it. He asked about the smoke detectors and other electrical appliances in my home and wrote up 3 quotes. Each quote included enrollment in their maintenance plan and a varying number of electrical upgrades. The costs started At $4000 for all the bells and whistles to $2500 for about half the bells and whistles to $835 for just the outlet upgrades and the maintenance plan. I told him I would need to discuss it with my wife because we were not planning on that large an expense at this time. He encouraged me to call him that evening to get the repair scheduled since I needed the outlets fixed quickly. He then charged me the $75 service fee for coming by. After he left I spoke to a friend who recommended a master electrician in the area who came by looked at the outlets and tested them, checked the same panel and outlet beneath it in the basement but when he looked at the outlet, he noticed the GFCI had tripped and pushed it in restoring power to the 3 outlets in question! He was in and out of my home in 15 minutes and had solved the problem whereas Cody was there for an hour and was so busy trying to upsell me, he couldn't be bothered to fix the actual issue. I spoke to a manager a few days later and expressed my displeasure and he understood my frustration and refunded my service fee. He also offered to come by himself and make the upgrades himself at a discounted rate for my inconvenience! I appreciate the attempt to make things right when service didn't meet the expectations. I may give them another shot some other time."

"WARNING- do not use this company, didnโt do the job agreed and paid for and donโt guarantee work!!!! I had a simple GFCI outlet installation required for a tankless hot water heater in our basement. They came out for an estimate, we agreed on where the source circuit would be to run wire to the new outlet and they took pictures and wrote details of the job. Electrician came out to do the job and I plugged the hot water heater in and it seemed to be ok and paid the bill. However, after the electrician left, we notice the hot water heater stops producing hot water after a few minutes or doesnโt turn on every time. Suspecting there may be an issue with the hot water heater, I called the plumber who installed the hot water heater and everything seems fine with the heater and new outlet from their diagnosis and they canโt determine the issue. I then did some diagnostics myself and noticed the electrician didnโt use the agreed power source I paid for to run wire to the new outlet, he used a different much closer source from a light fixture box, saving him on wire cost and labor time. Suspecting the issue may be a faulty GFCI outlet or something on the circuit, I called the electrician to tell them the situation and they agreed to come out after some haggling to investigate but said Iโd need to pay their min $120 fee for the visit if the issue is unrelated to their work. The electrician came out and replaced the GFCI outlet and after testing the hot water heater, the same issue happened with hot water not coming out. With the issue now appearing to be something on the circuit thatโs affecting the sensitivity of the GFCI outlet, I asked the electrician to run the circuit from the original source agreed and I paid for. I was told he canโt do that and needs to talk to his boss and asked me to pay for the visit. I refused to pay telling him they havenโt installed the circuit as agreed and I paid for. He agreed and said someone will get back to me to run the circuit from the original agreed source. After a couple of weeks I get a call asking if Iโd pay $120 to run the wire from the original source circuit I already paid for. I said I wouldnโt and they should honor the original agreement. The person said heโd talk to his boss. After 3 weeks of hearing nothing, I got fed up and ran a wire myself from the original circuit source to the GFCI outlet. I plugged in the hot water heater and it worked perfectly, confirming the issue was something on the circuit the electrician chose to run the wire from. All I asked for was to do the job we agreed and I paid for and everything would have been fine. They tried to nickel and dime me to pay more to redo their work which wasnโt what we agreed and I paid for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!"

The majority of local building authorities require permits for new electrical installations, including basement outlets. These requirements ensure your installation meets safety standards, particularly important in basement environments where moisture exposure is possible. Professional electricians generally handle permitting as part of their service. Permit fees average approximately $50, though this varies by municipality.
Your circuit's capacity determines how many outlets it can safely support. High-power basement appliances like freezers, dehumidifiers, or workshop equipment may require dedicated circuits rather than sharing with multiple outlets. A qualified electrician can evaluate your electrical panel to determine whether additional circuits are needed for your basement outlet project.
Yes, the National Electrical Code mandates GFCI protection for outlets in unfinished basement areas. These specialized outlets, which cost around $240 installed (compared to $230 for standard outlets), automatically cut power when they detect ground faults, providing essential protection in potentially damp environments. This small price difference represents a worthwhile investment in basement safety.
Professional electricians can typically complete a basic outlet installation in approximately 1-2 hours, assuming straightforward access to existing wiring. More complex installations requiring new circuits or panel modifications will take longer. Multiple outlet installations become increasingly efficient, with each additional outlet requiring less time than a standalone installation.
