But... they quoted us 3800 for a job that Home Depot did for 1700 with a better unit, and much better warranty. So it seems the prey on people who have an urgent need for serivces, that was a very jacked price. Stay away."

"Paid $60 to get them to give estimate. One of their plumbers came on-site and said to replace the faucet was $800 and they only used a certain three faucets so I couldnlt opick a different one but he was allowed to drop it to $700. I said it was just way more money then I coudl afford to fix a leaky faucet, and he said he coudl call his supervisor to see about droppinng it to $400. His supervisor said no way, i could hear the back and forth because he did it on speaker phone, with the guy pleading that they could maybe do for $350 or $400, and the Supervisor just said "no, $700 is the best we can do." I declined to go further with their proposition, and the on-site guy said of his own accord let me see if I can help you out for now, and he just took a wrench and tightened up the faucet. That was the entire problem, the bolt on the stem was loose. He said it should last a while and only charged me for his time, so I ended up paying $120 total. Five (5) years later still no leaks! That plumber was a very honest man and I appreciated him and would use him again, but I can not see how I could use this service again after them insisting I needed to spend $800 on a new faucet, the existing faucet was a high end piece the previous owners had installed before leaving to help sell the place and not more than a year old. I had my hot water heater blow last night, I had been advised T. Webber might be Pricey but would come quick, then I found out that they could not even give me a ballpark estimate on replacing a water heater without coming on-site to take a look at it, and forcing me to pay $60, and the previous experience came rushing back! I had forgotten it was T. Webber, but they had me on file from 2016 and everything! I understand the need to make a visit to a site to try to track down a leak and give an estimate, but what the heck!? They can't give me a ballpark estimate on a water heater replacement even if I provide you the details of the existing water heater's type, capacity, model # etc, and pictures of the heater, pipes and space, I have to pay $60 to let them see it with their own eyes first to find out a specific estimate,. So I hung up and called a couple other people who said they coudl give me an estimate with the info I provided without having to come on site and without charging me a fee. Yeah, I get that there may be other fees and items and what-not that have to be accounted for, so it's not going to be a full on quote, but this is not rocket surgery, there is a known quantity here, and I can help you source a $600 heater, and it's gonna be a days labor and we know it'll be some bibs and bobs so you can't give me a ballpark? Ridiculous. Given that faucet replacement service I experienced, I wouldn't be surprised if they charged $3500 for a hot water heater replacement, and I wasn't going to spend $60 for the privilege of knowing."

Electrical wiring or panel upgrades FAQs

A whole-house surge protector blocks voltage spikes from lightning, grid issues, or even large appliances before they can fry your wiring or electronics. By diverting excess current at the main panel, it shields everything from your HVAC to your phone chargers and can extend the life of pricey appliances. Homeowners in storm-prone regions or with older panels see the biggest payoff, but any home that relies on sensitive electronics benefits.

Most whole-house surge protectors work for two to three years. Low-level spikes—too small to notice—hit your panel every day and slowly wear down the internal components. Once the unit’s capacity is depleted, it can’t prevent a larger surge, so plan to replace it on schedule (or sooner if a major lightning strike occurs) to keep your electronics and HVAC equipment safe.

A surge protector begins guarding your circuits the moment an electrician snaps it into place. Whether the spike originates from a nearby lightning strike or your fridge kicking on, the protector shunts the extra current to ground before it can reach outlets or hard-wired systems, such as your AC. That instant response is why a small upfront cost can save thousands in appliance repairs.

The unit mounts on or next to your main electrical panel. Type 1 models sit on the supply side, catching outside spikes before they hit the breaker. Type 2 devices snap inside the panel and tame surges that start within the house. Either way, placement at the panel lets the protector guard every circuit at once.

Plan to swap the device every three to five years—or sooner if you upgrade your panel, add high-demand appliances, or notice flickering lights and tripped breakers. Relying on a maze of power strips is another red flag that your current setup isn’t keeping up. Replacing the surge protector at these milestones keeps your electrical system on safe footing.
