"Purchased coupon on August 11, 2011.  Because I was remodeling my kitchen myself after work and weekends, I didn't have time to deal with the creating the room drafts, plans, layouts or measurements she required.  I did contact Jill and explain the situation and she was very understanding.  She said because I contacted her, not to worry about the deadline.  I remained in contact with her over the next few years (that's how long it took me) and when I was ready around the start of 2014, she worked hard to provide her new design.
A true professional and great person to work with.  The design was spot on and my wife and i were very impressed.  Thank you Jill.

"
This project was a long time in the making. I'd been contemplating a kitchen remodel for what seemed like forever. After discussing my plans with Richard, I was finally ready to make that jump.

The projected started out like gangbusters. Old kitchen was in the dumpster in a day. Once the cabinetry was delivered, the installation began the following day. That's when things started to get interesting. About a dozen pieces of my cabinetry order was damaged. I am very appreciative that the installers was considerate of the situation and got me involved immediately. I was hands off for the most part while Richard dealt with the designer and vendor. Richard kept my hands clean until a decision needed to be made. For that, I'm thankful. As a customer, you're just looking for resolution and not all the stuff in between. At least that's my attitude anyways. After getting all the material square away, Richard got all the installers lineup up again to get the work sequenced like we originally agreed to. We had an extremely open and constructive working relationship between him and me and the installers. What I thought was cool and substantially beneficial are their opinions (I'm still right about the recessed lights :o) ). From Richard to the carpenters to the electrician to the mason, everybody had thoughtful ideas to add that extra flair to complement the vision I had for the project. Just simple and thoughtful ideas like to remove a section of a baseboard heater. Not just because it was old and ugly as all get out but it open the walkway (behind my peninsula) from my kitchen to my den. Or using leftover material to create additional detail. Nothing is more gratifying in a project than to work with people who are in sync with what you're trying to do rather than going of the reservation. Thank you NE Renovations for all the work that you've done.

I'm so thankful that I found you guys and to have you participate in making something very special for my family to enjoy for years to come. GOD bless!

NE Renovations ... BRAVO!!!"

"Nathan was very professional and listened to what I wanted for my bathroom remodel. He finished in a timely manner, and he always kept a clean work site. The one negative was that I had water leaking from the newly installed toilet and sink pipes within a week or two due to an error in installation from one of his crew (according to him). I had water ruin the drywall in the basement bathroom below the newly renovated one. I was obviously not happy about this, but Nathan quickly responded and was more than willing to have someone come and fix the drywall and repaint the downstairs bathroom wall that was damaged with no cost to me. I would have given him 5 stars if this had not happened."

"Amanda was really very good!  At first I was very skeptical, thinking why did I pay money to just speak with someone on the phone about my kitchen remodel project... but after just a few minutes of her addressing some of the issues/questions I emailed to her earlier, I knew it was worth it.  It was very clear that she knew her business and she gave me several ideas that I had not even thought about.  I told her that I would definitely recommend her to friends and I will very likely use her again myself for my next home project!

FAQs for kitchen remodel projects in New-Vineyard, ME

Your galley kitchen needs adequate clearance around any island installation to maintain functionality. Most galley kitchens lack sufficient width for traditional islands, as these layouts prioritize efficiency in smaller spaces.

If your kitchen has an unusual width, consult with a kitchen designer who can evaluate your specific dimensions and recommend appropriate solutions. For narrower spaces, consider alternatives like rolling carts or narrow work tables that provide additional surface area without permanently restricting movement.

Kitchen remodels require six to 10 weeks for completion, though timelines vary based on project scope and material availability. Simple updates like cabinet refinishing and countertop replacement might finish within a few weeks, while comprehensive renovations involving structural changes often extend beyond two months.

Planning stages add approximately four weeks before construction begins. Maintaining clear communication with your contractor and ordering materials early helps prevent unnecessary delays.

Common errors include insufficient clearance between opposing countertops, inadequate lighting that creates shadowy work areas, and poor storage planning that leaves countertops cluttered. Some homeowners select oversized appliances that overwhelm the space or invest in expensive features that don't address fundamental workflow issues.

Careful planning, accurate measurements, and consultation with experienced professionals help avoid these pitfalls and ensure your renovation successfully addresses your kitchen's specific challenges.

Whether expansion makes sense depends on your home's layout, your budget, and your long-term plans. Combining a galley kitchen with neighboring spaces creates more open, flexible layouts that many buyers prefer. However, removing walls involves substantial costs, particularly if they contain plumbing, electrical systems, or structural elements.

Sometimes, optimizing your existing galley layout through better storage solutions and lighting proves more cost-effective than expansion. Consult with a contractor to evaluate specific costs for your situation.

Effective galley kitchen lighting combines multiple sources to eliminate shadows and create visual spaciousness. Overhead fixtures provide general illumination, while under-cabinet lighting illuminates work surfaces directly. Consider recessed ceiling fixtures that don't protrude into limited headspace.

Lighting with dimming capabilities allows adjustment for different activities. Reflective surfaces like glass tile backsplashes or glossy cabinet finishes help bounce light throughout the space, reducing the corridor effect common in galley layouts.
