"I called Ace Fence and spoke with Doug the owner on Wednesday. He asked me to text him photos of the fence and would quote me right over the phone, which he did! He called back and said he would be able to come the next day to fix the gate, which he did! He came Thursday and repaired the fence to our gate within an hour! He was very easy to work with and would highly recommend him & his team!"

"The company called me to set up the date for the service. I asked to be in contact with the contractor prior the service, so we could set up the details of what I needed to be done, the list of materials to be purchased. Nobody called me. On the scheduled day, the contractor called in the morning saying that he was heading over to my place. He was polite and respectful. He got to my house at 9:15. He installed the vanity , but left the faucet linking inside the vanity and with water sprinkling everywhere because the faucet is not well aligned with the vanity. He took off the old vanity and mirror and left a lot of holes in the drywall that he said he couldn't fix, inside the vanity he made a lot more room then he should in order to pass the plumbing, damaging my expensive vanity( after he refused to use the plumbing material that I have already purchased.). After that service was done ( no more than 2 hours later) , he said that he could not change my thermostat and left. Now I have to contract someone else to fix the faucet problem ,cover the holes in the drywall and install a new thermostat. The advertise in the Angie's List was for 8 hours of one handyman, doing shelving, minor plumbing and electrical services. If the contractor have called me before the appointment, as I have requested, maybe we could have specified all the work to do and I wouldn't be feeling so disrespect as I am now."

"This spring the rain was no friend to outside construction, however, America's Best Patio Rooms were able to start the project the end of June. The original size of our screened in porch was 12' x 10' which was too small so we wanted it extended by six feet to 12' x 16'. Initially we thought we'd do a three season room but after getting four estimates and deciding that we really didn't want to spend that amount at this time we kept it as a screened in porch. Because of the crumbling concrete, we had to have about five feet of the original pad removed and about eleven feet of new concrete poured. I wasn't totally pleased with the concrete work since, while the new concrete is level, the original pad had a slight decline away from the house, meaning that there is a slight valley where the two meet. This was very evident when it rained buckets while the roof was still 10' and the pad was uncovered; a lot of water collected at the valley. However, now that the roof is extended and the supports and screening in place, this, hopefully, will no longer be an issue (so far it hasn't and there have been heavy rains). While the project went slower than I would have liked (rain didn't help) in the end, the finished product is flawless. America's Best Patios uses white vinyl casing to cover the support beams and white aluminum to hold the screening which provides a very clean, flawless appearance to the porch, especially when compared to the rough cedar that was part of the previous porch. When the crew completed the porch, the appearance is clean and crisp, the screens are tight (something I really appreciate), and its a pleasure to once again use our porch. A couple things worth noting: 1) Austin, the boss, takes pride in what he does and always answered my questions in detail; 2) they hooked up an outside light even though the contract stated it was the responsibility of the homeowner; 3) painters creased two of the screens the day after the porch was completed but the crew came back and fixed them with no charge to me; and 4) the crew that did our screened in porch paid attention to the details and kept me informed as to the schedule and progress. I also need to mention that I was not enamored with the concrete work that was done; when it was completed the finish was like walking on broken shards of glass meaning that shoes had to be worn and we are definitely bare-foot people in the summer on the porch. Since I didn't want to deal with the concrete person (he had missed three appointments with me previously) I just used a belt sander with ultra coarse sandpaper and took care of it myself. So, the screened in porch is fantastic and since I sanded the concrete smooth we can walk on it without shoes. If using America's Best, you might want to discuss the concrete and the finish before signing a contract. And while I wasn't satisfied with the concrete work, the rest was top notch, so I gave them an "A" rating (wish they had a separate rating for the concrete work!) or a chance to rate them "A-"."

"We had purchased a big deal for the service. I bought the big deal, so that I could have all the work done, and I made an appointment, and it was supposed to be for 80 Dollars. I never heard back from them, and so I took a day off from work on the day they were supposed to come. I waited around, and nobody came, and so at around 11.30 I called, and got the receptionist, and she said that they will be there, they were finishing a job. It wasn't clear, and I didn't ask, but I assumed I would get one person for 8 hours as opposed to several people for 8 man hours, but that was okay. There was lack of communication. When they arrived, they called and said they were on their way, and I did get my job done, but I thought they were a little unprofessional. One of the things that struck me, was that they told me that they had come from a landscaping job, and it had been pretty wet. They tracked mud all over my house, and never said anything about it. They left debris in every place that they worked, and I am kind of used to them cleaning up after themselves. The thing with the mud was very odd. I got my jobs done, but there were a couple of things that were unproffesional. There was the owner Lesley, and there was this younger guy whose name was also Lesley, and he had been installing this light fixture in the basement. He came out to tell me about it, and his phone had this music playing really loud. He came up to talk to me, and he never turned his music down, I thought that was a little odd too. I thought they should refine their approach. I was happy that they got the job done. Most of the work done was pretty good, but some of the lights didn't lie flat. He fixed the gutter, and while he was up there, he gave me an assessment of the roof, so there were pluses as well. There was no additional charge, other than the supplies that I had to get, but I knew about that. I was a little concerned, as I didn't get a confirmation call. I would probably not use them again, because what they did for me will not be needed to be done now."

"I hired Wood Renovation to power wash and stain my deck as well as replace some rotted boards. They did a good job replacing the boards, but they also missed a rotted board, which was not replaced. They did a good job power washing and staining the floor of the deck, but they only used one coat of solid stain on the floor, which was not enough. The Sherwin Williams stain they used even says to use two coats. The ornamental caps that sit on top of the balusters were covered with old, chipping paint, and they did not sand them prior to staining. The owner, Steve, indicated that he normally doesn't include sanding in a bid, but he did come out and try to sand off some of the chipping paint. They also used a paint sprayer for the deck railings, which did not completely cover any of the railings and instead got on my landscaping. I had to have Steve come back out two different times to touch up every railing. Fortunately, he was very nice and accommodating about it. Overall, the quality of the work was not worth $996."
