"Dick is unbelievable! He came out. Told us what it would cost for his labor to replace the old carpet. It was a very competitive bid. HOWEVER although the carpet was soiled after nearly 20 years but was very good quality he suggested we consider having it professionally cleaned before deciding to replace it. We called a cleaner he recommended, and he was able to make the old carpet look as good as new! Dick will stay at the top of my list for any future carpet needs."

"This was a great experience from the start! On the phone he gave me the exact information I needed to figure out the cost. In our home , he provided us a lot of good information about the carpet and did an amazing job on the stretching. It is back to looking like newly installed carpet! Pricing was very fair for the work done and he even helped me with the install of a wood floor edge piece that had been broken for a few months. Over and above my expectations. Would definitely recommend and use again."

"I went to Tim after being disgusted by the treatment I received at Home Depot. He was very helpful with the carpet selection (I love it). He offered a better price that any big-box store. I was concerned about moving all the furniture to clear the area for install. TIm was very helpful with suggestions about the installation to minimize the stress of moving full rooms of furniture. This was very different from new construction, where nothing is in the way! I didn't even have to move all the clothing out of the closets! Just the lower racks. It took two days for the install and had to be scheduled to allow me time to move furniture, so it took a couple of weeks to complete. TIm was very accommodating to my schedule. He was prompt with all our appointments, from estimate to install. I would recommend Tim to others, and would use Tim Stegall Carpet again. <br />"

"They are the only ones I use to put in floors. They only install quality floors so if you are looking for cheap floors it is not the place to go. If you are looking for a floor that will last, good quality and installed professionally then you want to. All their materials are high performance and that includes carpeting."

"Green Clean has cleaned my carpets for several years now and I have been very pleased with their work. The workers are prompt, polite, and thorough, getting out some of my toughest spots. Today Rob and Whitney cleaned the carpets and did the great job I have come to expect. I will continue to hire them in the future."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in New Germany, MN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
