"Very well!! Brian did a great job installing 4 custom blinds in my home. Brian measured the rest of our widows and offered sound advice on how to accurately order blinds for them. I highly recommend Brian for his handyman services."

"Ken and his helper were amazing. Ken came out to recommend and quote light fixtures in our unfinished basement, connect a couple of Ring floodlights, and replace the doorbell transformer and install a new Ring doorbell at my residence. Ken's work is clean, fast, and reasonably priced! I would absolutely hire him again!"

This project ended better than my best expectation and I credit Karol for the good result.  Karol is personable and a skilled craftsman.  But more than this, Karol has an aesthetic sense of space and design that is a gift.

In addition, he has surrounded himself with a crew of skilled craftsmen with excellent work ethics.  They don't even break for lunch.

To understand my perception, it's helpful to know that this particular job of renovation was daunting.  My kitchen was original to the 1959 house. I had done some measurements and did not think there were many workable solutions to this dark and cramped space.

Demolition would remove the old Formica countertops and two layers of vinyl flooring.  But, the kitchen also had only two outlets, old wiring, and significant prior water damage in the ceiling.

An adjacent dining area had nice light from a picture window, but this was cut off from the kitchen by a pine divider.  As a result, the kitchen was a very dark space.

But, it?s beautiful now...bright, new and functional.

Karol put new sheetrock on the ceiling and added recessed lights.  He removed the center divider which added light from the picture window. There is now a new open kitchen / dining area.

He removed the floors of the kitchen, dining area, and hallway so that I had one continuous hard wood floor.

The cupboards he recommended are of good quality.  And, the reasonableness of the price on the cupboards allowed me to expand the budget on my appliances.

Karol also hired an electrician who was excellent.  We went from two outlets to eight.  And he upgraded the electric box.  While working on that upgrade, he noticed that my husband?s work room where the electric box is located did not have an outlet.  So, he added one.  He just thought it would be fast and easy for him to fix so he did. It was a small thing, but beyond expectation.

In addition, when Karol installed a cupboard over the refrigerator, he moved it forward so as to be flush with the depth of the refrigerator to make it reachable.  My nephew is a contractor in another part of the state and he told me that is the right way to do it.  He also mentioned that a lot of contractors don?t know this, but the good ones do.

His counter guy was also excellent.  I listened to his advice about a faucet and was glad that I did.  The one I had originally chosen would have been a problem.  He explained why another choice would look better and be more functional.

Over the past few weeks, I have come to appreciate their skill.  Equally important, I appreciate that these guys also gave good advice and they all made me feel comfortable.

I would rehire him in a heartbeat.  He's very good at his job.

I don?t know what more anyone could expect -- pleasant, on time, skilled, good guidance, and a beautiful result at a very good price.

"I could not be more pleased with this company or this service. I found them here on AL and with a rebate, it was a great deal. When I called, the woman who answered was extremely polite and helpful and took the time to go over the entire audit process with me (she wasn't rushed as some receptionists are). They sent an email to confirm the date and time.
When the team arrived, they were on time and each of them introduced themselves by name to me before coming into my house. They were all very polite and courteous. The leader (I can't remember his name) gave me an overview of the process and explained things as they went. Basically, they simulate high winds around the house and then monitor for where leaks are. My house is relatively new and has no basement, so it was already pretty efficient, but there were some major leaks by the front door and attic door, which they sealed on the spot. They also showed me that I could hold my hand over any electrical socket, even ones on interior walls, and feel the "wind"--which means air was leaking out those! So I plugged them all with those little socket protectors. The guys also took me into the attic and showed me some leaks, and fixed them--and fixed the attic door by adding a little latch to help it stay closed. All in all, they reduced the amount of air getting into my house by 500 (I forget the units). It was clear they didn't just make up this number--they showed me the number after the first test and then after the second test (when they had treated the problem areas).
I also got a few free CFLs and LEDs, and bought 3 more LEDs since they were at a great price. They left some rebates with me, although all my appliances are new so I didn't need anything.
When they left, they each said goodbye and were very professional until the end. They were respectful in my home and asked before opening any closets or doors, etc. I felt very safe with them here, which is not always the case when people are in your home working. I think the price is a fantastic one, especially with the AL rebate that was on when I scheduled. I feel I got my money's worth. My husband and I had tried to plug some leaks ourselves, but we didn't really know what we were doing and we had no way to measure if we were really helping anything. This audit gave me hard numbers to look at and I was impressed that they did the fixes on-site (included in the price--for instance, they plugged a whole around my front door frame by installing a clear plastic barrier). It was a great deal and a great experience. Highly recommend!
Bonus--when we resell this house in a few years, I will definitely list that we got a professional energy audit performed on it and that it's very efficient. Definitely a selling point!
