"Excellent service. They came and inspected my 30 year old GE Spacemaker washer/dryer unit, and determined that the part needed was no longer made by GE. Instead of trying to sell me on their services, or talk me into hiring them to make an expensive workaround repair, they advised me that I’d be better off buying a new one. And! "Southern Pride Services first came over to look at a potential frontloading washing machine problem.  The gentleman said that the repair parts would exceed the cost of a new machine.  Since he fixed nothing, he graciously offered to repair another appliance in the future.
 The future need was our Jenn-Aire down-draft stove.  The fan really hadn't sucked air since it was new.  It turns out that the fan was connected to the exhaust through a non-std fitting.  He used duct tape to fashion a repair.  We now get some exhaust, but it's not nearly strong enough to handle fumes from the stove.  Our fire alarms still go off if we have fumes that need pulled away from the stove.
I guess we need an entirely new hookup.  We haven't investigated that because of the expected cost.  The stove originally was purchased from the largest appliance retailer in the Raleigh area, and they got it wrong.
The service provider was very professional, timely and courteous.  We'd hire him again.
