George was willing to work with the ideas that I had for building the fire pit and patio.  He was very responsive during the project when I would stop him and ask questions, or suggest a different way to do the layout and design.  The patio and fire pit turned out nicely.  On the lawn work - seeding, mulching, leveling - I felt that George was trying to get done and get to another job, and maybe didn't spend as much time and care as I would have liked.  If you hire him for a job, be aware that he is pretty much a one man show, and is sometimes slow to respond to emails and calls, and can get behind schedule quickly when the weather is bad.

"So far we have had one treatment, and it went great. Their staff was very responsive as I was trying to get this scheduled. They completed the first treatment in a timely manner and were very thorough in treating the entire lawn. The weeds started dying within a day or two, and now my lawn looks much better."

"We had a large dead tree in the yard that needed removal.  I called Scot as well as 2 other companies for an estimate.  Scott came out the afternoon of the day I called and gave me an estimate on the spot.  He also looked at a couple of other trees on the property and suggested we trim those and treat one of them while he was there.  He gave me a separate bid for those services. 
Over the next 2 days the other tree services that I contacted showed up and left me a bid for the removal.  Unfortunately I wasn't home when they came so the only bids I received was for the service I asked for.  In any case, Scott's bid was the least of the three.  So after reading reviews here on Angieslist I contacted him. Again he was here the afternoon of the morning I notified him.  He brought his crew and within 4 hours the tree was down, the other 2 tree were trimmed and one of the trees was treated as he had suggested. The yard looked better when they left than when they got here.  There was no indication of what had taken place other then a very low stump where the originally stood. I had not opted to have the stump ground.   No debris was left.  It was completely clean.  Needless to say I was completely satisfied.  I would recommend Scott and his crew and will use them again in the future as need be.

"I had my old lawn removed and new sod laid. After removing the old grass they lightly raked some loose grass and stones. As they were getting ready to lay the new sod I asked about having It tilled to loosen the soil so the roots could better connect to the ground. You can’t lay new sod on hard ground and expect the roots to work their way through it. Tony, who was in charge of the job wasn’t pleased by my request but did till it, (because he knew I was right). I noticed some pieces that looked different and he said not to worry about it. It would all be ok after some water and a couple of weeks. Well, it wasn’t. Also , on the second day of finishing the job, someone else working in my house, who used to be a landscaper, pointed out the edges were not tight and some were overlapping other pieces. Tony was not at all happy hearing that. So a few days later after it was obvious the edges were dying and not tight, I had the other guy fix it. Still some of it was not surviving. Dave, the one who came originally to quote the job, came to look at it. In an email he said that there were a few “shoddy” areas and that I should have notified them right away and not let someone else work on it. I did notify them and Tony once again said not to worry about it, so the other guy, who had years of experience with sod worked on it. It would have been much worse it he hadn’t! So, Dave agreed to bring 5 pieces (they actually bought 6). I don’t know why they limited the number of pieces to fix their faulty work. It may have taken just a few more to do it right. Sod is very inexpensive per piece. They probably spent less than 75.00 to make a customer satisfied with a 2500.00 job. A few more dollars and a better attitude would have been nice. I would avoid them"

"While they did MOST of the treatments in the proper time frame, the lawn looked awful no matter what we did. They continued to tell us it was all because of the drought in previous year but the lawn had been watered regularly during the drought and had been looking decent from the previous year. As the summer/fall progressed, the lawn looked worse than it had in a long time. We wouldn't recommend this company unfortunately.
