"From beginning to end, it was fairly smooth.  The sales people were very nice and really seemed to care about what we actually wanted.  They did not try and pressure us into upgrading or getting the "best" carpet, but showed us the difference between some upon our request.  They were very accommodating to our schedule.  We had to cancel twice and push back our installation date.  The installers came a little later than stated, but we were given a call that they were running behind.  The installers were very courteous and walked us through the basement upon completion.  We were very pleased with the overall experience.  The pricing was reasonable and they help out the military and public safety families with a small discount.  We will return for further jobs if they arise. <br />"

"We had all the carpet and old wood floors removed from our first floor and replaced with beautiful Acacia engineered hardwood flooring. It looks even better than I had imagined. In 2 1/2 days they tore out all the old wood flooring and old carpet and installed the new floors. Very efficient team. We only wish we had done this sooner!! River City Flooring is the best. From initial sales call to installation everything went very smoothly. Highly recommend!"

"I contacted my insurance company.  Within 10 minutes of completing my claim information, I received a phone call from Hays and sons regarding my claim.  They immediately sent out a contractor to do an emergency patch job on my roof to prevent further damage and leaking.  The representative (Joe Dillon) that came out to my house for the initial inspection had great communication skills as well as professional appearance, attitude, and met me when I was available.  The representative did a great job and provided me with all of the information that I needed to contact him and Hays and Sons.  The office of Hays and sons did a great job sending me the proper documentation, communicating with me throughout the process.  The original project manager (Chad Schmepf, now released from the company) not once meet with me face to face, told me when contractors were coming out to my property, and other numerous issues that I did make Hays and sons aware of.  Hays and sons immediately had a new project manager (Sean Mattingly) take over.  Sean was a really good, professional, representative for the company.  He did an excellent job meeting with me, communicating with me any issues along the way, and ensuring that I was well taken care of  at all times.  Sean ensured that my project was completed in a good timely manner and it was.  The outcome exceeded my expectations.  I have and will continue to recommend Hays and Sons for future projects.  <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in New-Middletown, IN

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
